Hello. I have a problem that I have been trying to solve for several weeks. At the moment I have MIDI Maestro (updated to firmware 1.1.9) and Aeros (updated to firmware 5.2.1) but after updating the firmware everything became just awful. Aeros itself works well, but as soon as I run any command from MIDI Maestro, Aeros immediately starts to freeze, the sound goes, and the picture on the screen freezes and then freezes and the sound, I have to turn off Aeros with the switch. I did everything according to the instructions, also rechecked all the MIDI cables, they are of good quality, but the problem is still not solved. I really regret that for some reason I updated MIDI Maestro.
I would be very grateful for any hint on how to return the old firmware or roll back the MIDI maestro to factory settings.
I also reset Aeros several times, reinstalled the firmware to 5.1.1. But nothing helped. I repeat that Aeros itself works well and all the commands that I run from it work perfect.
I also reinstalled the firmware on the Midi Maestro from my iPhone, from my iPad and even from the application on the Android device, but everything repeats itself again. And of course I updated the default command bank. It should work without interruption, but it doesn’t.
Monitor the midi messages you are sending from your MIDI Maestro
Check the app versions that they are up to date (probably since each device produces similar result)
Make sure from Aeros section that the 5.2.1 doesn’t have any critical bugs reported (I don’t have Aeros)
The first is critical in a sense that if the midi messages don’t get stuck in some kind of infinite repeat loop etc then the problem is in the receiver, Aeros in this case
That being said, check that you don’t have accidentally made a physical midi loop If you have then you need to disable midi merge from one of the devices
These two devices are directly connected to each other. There are no additional MIDI connections between them. I don’t quite understand what kind of incorrect commands there could be if they are built into the MIDI Maestro for Aeros by default. Also yesterday I tried to update to 5.2.1 via Wi-Fi after reinstalling the 5.1.1 firmware. And everything was the same. All Wi-Fi and MIDI tests are successful. This is all very frustrating, since it is not possible to use this device.
So from MM out to Aeros in. No connection back from Aeros to MM
Are you able to monitor what messages MM is sending? MM doesn’t know what is on the other side of the cable so it should behave the same way
As of now we still don’t know if this is MM or Aeros that causes the problems. If monitoring is not an option then you could try to send the same midi commands with another device
At this point you may want to contact support@singularsound.com for help with a link to these posts. You may also be asked to provide a video of the issues of the as well as the debug logs from your Aeros.
Later today I will move your posts to a separate thread.
Once you have everything sorted out, please let us know what you had to do to fix the problem.
