Im saddened to see the set I use most was not one of the new HD sets. Please make a retro custom HD version
Retro Custom belongs to @GoranGrooves as does much of the premium content SS sold previously. They don’t have any “HD” drumkits yet over there, but I think it’s safe to say Goran will update things as he can.
Dumb question…if @GoranGrooves creates HD kits, since both the BB1 and BB2 have the same output audio resolution, won’t BB1 users also get the same improved samples or are there hardware differences in the pedals regarding the MIDI to audio conversion so this won’t happen?
Pretty good question, actually, however, since the HD drum sets will most likely exceed the 100Mb size limitation of the BeatBuddy (BB) 1 drum sets, neither the pedal or the software will support.
As far as I can tell, the only difference between BB1 and BB2 is the size of the drums. There seems to be a limit on the number of samples (16?) that the BB1 can handle per instrument and total size, and I haven’t pushed the BB2 to see where its upper limit is. I’m going to do some more testing to see what it can do in terms of samples and velocity layers.
I have a pretty decent setup and I can’t hear any quality difference between the BB1 and BB2. When I get a chance, I’ll do some low-level peeping to see if there is a difference. So in terms of sample quality, I think you can have the same quality in the BB1, just less of them.
Hi there,
Correct, beyond the size of the kit we updated the total allowed samples from 16 max in BB1 to 32 max in BB2
