Problems running beatbuilder on Windows 10

When I first got my BB, I was running BB manager and beatbuilder on Vista. I have now upgraded to a new and powerful windows 10 machine, and while BB Manager works fine, I cannot, despite hours of struggling, get BeatBuilder to run.

I’m sure it’s a problem with Java, but as far as I can diagnose, the Java installation is OK, but otherwise I’m completely stuck.

Does anyone have any experience of this?
