If i start a Beat using the Midi Maestro but stop that same Beat using the Beat Buddy itself the MM will still shows “Stop” in the BB Start/Stop window. If I then hit the Stop button on the MM to get it ready to start the next Song/Beat it plays an Outro. This is not what I want as the last song beat had already been stopped
by the BB and the song was over. Now the audience hears an isolated Outro. I know if I force myself to use the MM all the time for starts and stops this won’t happen it will just stop the song without playing the Outro. But on the occasions I do use the BB by accident to end the song/beat I do have this issue. How do I resolve this ?
My suggestion is to use a custom mode for MM where you can assign start and stop for separate buttons
This way the toggle feature can’t mess things up ![]()
Another option is to start with BB after stopping with BB, but this doesn’t remove the risk of hitting right button at wrong time ![]()

Third option is to move BB to some unreachable place where you can’t press it at all. This way you can use only MM ![]()
Personally I use custom MM mode that doesn’t have start nor stop commands for BB. For those I use BB
Currently my MM has following commands:
- Tap tempo
- mute/tuner HX Stomp
- emergency stop BB
- Press button in MobileSheets
- Change page in MobileSheets
- next part in BB
And another page has more MobileSheets/HX Stomp commands, but I rarely use those ![]()
I have been thinking of replacing the “next part in BB” with a “pause and immediately fill” which enables me to change the position where count one happens ![]()
I’d recommend using the Footswitch+ to switch pages on the MIDI Maestro.
