Recording with Beat Buddy

I also use Ableton. I go into my computer via either an Akai EIE pro which has 4 inputs audio inputs and a midi input or a Line 6 Tone port which also has 4 inputs. Both are connected to the computer via USB ports. I can plug my guitar and Beat Buddy directly into the interfaces and assign them to different tracks in Ableton. The drivers for each of these interfaces are loaded onto your computer so that it knows what it is talking to and it keeps things simple.

Bluzman, so do you have your guitar and beat buddy plugged into the two different devices at the same time, going into your computer via different USB inputs or just into one and the device separates the channels so you can record each on a different track?

I have Abelton Live Lite 8, it came with my Fender Mustang II V2 amp. In my version I can only pick one USB driver to use with ablelton?

The USB mixer or USB interface can send two signals paths via USB into the PC and to Abelton. So its best to send the guitar and BB signals separate. The USB mixer or interface would use separate channels and not mix the signals from guitar and BB before they go USB into the PC. Mixing is done later using Abelton.
