Recovering from INVALID SD CARD error on your BeatBuddy

If you are a macOS BeatBuddy user and you are getting an INVALID SD CARD error on your pedal, you can try the process in this thread.

I made an image file of a freshly downloaded BeatBuddy Default Content 2.1 - Project contents and have written instructions on how to recover.

Whether you are successful or not, please let me know. If you were able to restore your pedal by other means, please tell the forum what you did as I’m sure other users will benefit from your experience.

I had this issue, and I don’t know how or why, but simply removing and reinserting the card a few times, rebooting BB each time, eventually worked around the 3rd time

Hi , any chance there is a fix for a windows machine? T.I.A

Check that:

  • card is not locked
  • you are using the built-in slot reader and not the USB-to-pedal connection method
  • the card is an SDHC 4-32Gb class 10 card
  • formatted as FAT32
  • card has the current firmware for the type of pedal (BB 1 or BB 2)
  • try a different card
