Remove Feature that changing Command changes all Buttons with that Command

Please do not let changing a command in the library, change the same command in all buttons with that command.

I want to select a backing track in Aeros, a beat in BB, a patch in effects pedal, and sheet music on computer. 30 song set list and the command library is a mess when all I need was the same command incrementing a value. The down side would be if I have to change a device address, I would have to do it everywhere that command exists in the buttons.

Can’t you just create a new command instead of modifying any command? Then switch (or add) the new command only where you need it :relieved:

Also, I suggest that you switch to a sheet music app that lets you save the needed midi commands of BB song, Aeros loop and effects patch to that song. Then you just need to send the command to the computer to change song and the app will send back the other midi commands. The mess is pretty much gone :yum:

Personally I use MobileSheets on iPad to do just that

In addition to sending midi commands upon opening a song sheet, MobileSheets also supports saving midi commands to buttons that can be activated through midi (or by hand) With this I can easily have a following structure in BB song parts:

1 2 1 2 3 2

You might be more familiar with:

A B A B C B

And this can be as complicated as one needs :yum:

On Midi Maestro side I have the “press MobileSheets button” command and “change page” command (also change song but rarely use it) and then some other commands directly for BB or HX Stomp :relieved:

Unfortunately, this is how it works, each command is singular and has an identity and thus if it is edited it must be edited across the board, if you need incrementing commands you have to make each one independently

Thank you for your request

The problem is the number of repetitions making an unruly library vs. The ease of copying a button and just changing a few parameters.

So the iPad is now the Maestro. I don’t have an iPad but I’m curious to how the iPad talks to all your devices through ble? Does the Bluetooth on the Maestro receive the iPad signal and transfer it to a wired buss or do all the devices support Bluetooth?

Midi Maestro and iPad communicate with two way Bluetooth. But I’m considering to replace both with wired connections due to delay with Bluetooth.

For triggering transition or fill in the middle of measure is okay with the delay, also changing effects off beat :relieved: But starting beat or doing anything on beat doesn’t work properly :face_with_peeking_eye:

Then from MM to BB and HX Stomp I have wired connection :slightly_smiling_face:

Like this:

iPad → wired Keyboard
:arrow_up::arrow_down: Bluetooth
MM → wired BB → wired HX Stomp

The keyboard connection is still only planned as I don’t play keyboard that often

But to replace the Bluetooth with wired connections I’d have to either split the midi or make a loop, or perhaps MobileSheets supports midi merge (probably iPad has some app to do it :relieved:)

Plan B is to save all time critical midi commands on the MM itself, which is not bad at all. In some cases that just means I need to use different user modes with different gigs :yum:

All wired could be like this:

MM → iPad → BB → HX Stomp
Keyboard

Thanks a bunch for all that info. I just decided to return the Maestro and get a morning star mc6. If I had read your post first, I might have gone the Mobile Sheets route.

The CME family of Bluetooth midi supposedly solve the latency problem ( >3 ms)

You can still select the MobileSheets route :yum:

I feel that having the BB song, BB tempo, sometimes even BB drum set, and HX Stomp preset connected to the music sheet (chords and lyrics etc) is just hassle free

I just need to select songs to a new set list and I can go to a gig :yum: Well in the future at least  Currently every gig still has some new songs so I need to create new sheets

I’m picky with my sheets: They need to have measures + chords + lyrics at the correct position. And all this for all verses, chorus etc :relieved: Very often I need to make them myself

Luckily MobileSheets supports all this and possibility to transpose the chords in case the singer needs a different key :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes::sunglasses:

Anyway, having to juggle with song related midi commands in one place and sheets in other just isn’t for me :face_with_peeking_eye: Generic commands do end up in MM :relieved:
