I use OnSong for my chord charts which seems like it must be common since OnSong is mentioned several times in the manual. I have been using OnSong to drive the Beat Buddy by adding instructions like MIDI: @part1, MIDI: @part3, etc. to the parts in my chord charts. This allowed me to step through parts in the chart using a pedal while using interchangeable parts for the verse, chorus, etc.
I have the new Beat Buddy now and wanted to try AutoPilot. In this workflow, OnSong would trigger the start of the song in Beat Buddy, but the Beat Buddy would drive OnSong from that point on by sending the “next part” signal.
The problem I have is that I can’t interchange the two models. If I have “next part” enabled in Beat Buddy for AutoPilot, it works great. However, if I use a chord chart where OnSong sends part messages to Beat Buddy, the Beat Buddy sends a “next part” back to OnSong which causes it to immediately go to the next section and send a part message back to Beat Buddy in an infinite loop. I’d like to have an option for the “next part” message to only be sent when Beat Buddy is driving the song (i.e., in AutoPilot mode), but if another device is driving the song (i.e., OnSong) Beat Buddy wouldn’t send the “next part” message.
