Usually, Cash sung his songs on CAPO 1. This is a rarity, all open chords, no capo, BUT it makes it unsingeable if you have anything but a bass voice. So there are two versions, the original in G and then CAPO 1. Take your pick.
Watch your timing, ESPECIALLY on the last line of the first verse…its actually a truncated measure. Listen to the original to get the idea.
