Road to Nowhere by Talking Heads DOP

Road to Nowhere by Talking Heads.
4 beat intro, starts on the word “out” in the last line of the
a cappella intro. “Give us time to work it OUT”.
That worked for us, hope it works for you.
Song and midi.

Good Stuff, is there a recommended drum kit to go with this song?

Import the song using the BBMO and assuming you have the Default Content as part of your project, you will have the proper kit loaded and ready to go.

thanks, sorry if I am asking stupid questions. Thanks

Hi Graham, am a fairly new user but really enjoy BB2. Thank you for contributing to the forum. I would really like to use your file for Road to Nowhere but having downloaded it appears there is no volume once SD card loaded in BB2, I assume I’m missing a drum kit, I can see others have previously asked similar question, but as a new user I’m assuming I have up to date content. I’d be grateful if you could point me in the right direction please. Thanks

Hi Ukes

Not sure what’s going wrong here, so let’s work it out.

I checked the “Song” file and it’s set up with the basic “Rock” kit that I assume is still a standard kit.

I use a BeatBuddy not a BeatBuddy 2, but cant imagine they’re different or incompatible.

Are you are using BeatBuddy Manager Online to manage the files on your SD card?

As Persist says above, you should be able to import the song to BBMO, then update your SD card and use it in your BB2.

What process have you tried so far?

Graham

Hi Graham, thanks very much for your reply.

On my Mac I downloaded your zip file then in BBMO extracted the 8KB file with .sng extension, which loaded well and plays on my computer. When I save project and also save to SD card and go to play on Beat Buddy 2 pedal there is no volume.

I used this method with another song which worked.

Where the title of the drum kit routinely appears on the Mac this reads '“rtn” (i.e the title of the song) normally I would see the drum genre here. I have the Rock drum genre.

Many thanks once again

Only things o can think of to suggest is recheck the song in BBMO. Maybe try loading a different drum kit and seeing what happens.

Duplicate it perhaps and do something similar maybe.

Or failing that creat a “New Song” and drag the midi file from the download into it. See if that works.

Beyond that I’m clueless. If you still don’t get there, post a help me question on the forum. Don’t give up. Steep learning curve to start with here. Worth it though.

Thanks Graham will do that.

Make sure that in the pedal settings that Default Drumset: Enabled is applied.

Thank you
