SD card for aeros HAS TO BE 32 gb yes?

Is it right any SD card over 32 gb wont work in the aeros ? is that the maximum ?

Many thanks

Correct. SDHC 32Gb is the maximum size with a recommended Class 10 rating. No need to pay for the higher speed and priced video camera SD cards.

LATE EDIT: It can be smaller but I’d recommend no smaller than SDHC 16Gb Class 10.

thank you

I could get it to work with 128GB (firmware 5.1.1) until recently it stopped working after updating to firmware 5.2 So I tried another card (64GB) and it works until now. Both cards were formatted to FAT32

It is a frustrating issue because if you think about it, what is the justification of capping the maximum capacity at 32GB for a modern digital device in the year 2024? A basic digital camera has built-in card formatting feature, can’t Aeros include one? The price of the Aeros is in the range of the price of a computer and digital camera, hence the formatting feature expectation in all fairness.

Majority of the users’ opinion on the internet and this forum says 32GB but I’ve proven it’s not true. I would appreciate it if Brennan or the Singular Sound tech team could clarify / elaborate more on this matter. Thank you!

How did you format the 64GB and 128GB SD card to FAT32? Usually the SD cards I have bought over 32GB have been exFAT formatted and the Win11 and Win10 PC’s I have only have an option for exFAT or NTFS for these larger cards. I believe I’ve come across utilities that can do a FAT32 format, but most people may not want to do this.

I used MacOS (Disk Utility) to format both cards to FAT32

Thank you for quoting the manual and yes I have read the manual.

  1. “maximum of 32GB” - I have successfully used 64GB and 128GB (used to work previously but currently not detected).
  2. “micro-SD cards DO NOT function” - Both my 64GB & 128GB cards are micro-SD cards in an adapter and they both worked.
  3. “Internal memory of 3 hours” - may be true for total sum of recordings (songs) but not true for 1 song because I get an error message of running out of storage space after recording several tracks (stacking layers) within about 5 minutes.

My confusion is why does the manual say 32GB SD card is the maximum capacity but in my use case I could get bigger capacity micro-SD cards to work? I guess to solve my issue, I just need to comply to the recommended specifications stated in the manual and move on. The only inconvenience is that majority of the stores in my area sells MICRO-SD + adapter and the sizes are 64GB and above.

Thank you!

I have several 1TB Sandisk cards that are unusable. Sad!
