IS there some way or some utility that would let you see the contents of a PDF without actually importing it to BB?
Or would i have to actually Import it, then decide if I wanted to keep all or part of it?
Not that I’m aware of.
Unless the originator of the folder posts a listing of the content songs, the only way to know what’s in the folder is to import it and then decide what to keep.

Are we talking about a *.pbf folder file? If so, it’s just a zip archive file and you can unzip to get the song content and the list of files are in the config.csv file.
For example I unzipped the Soundgarden premium *.pbf
