Song List for the BB Mini?

Is the current BB song list library applicable to the BB Mini? Or does the Blues 1 song the same in both machines. Thanks for any help. Scott

Ive been trying to find out the same thing. Seems ā€œmostā€ dont respond to questions about the miniā€¦ I wish they had a forum devoted to the mini. As far as I can tell the song list for the BB is different than the mini as the song numbers go much higher than the 5 we get on the mini. Also im not sure if Blues 1-5 on the BB is the same as 1-5 on the Mini.

The Mini could be a gateway drug, but the lack of songlist info is disappointing. Still, Iā€™ve had it for two days and havenā€™t yet gotten bored with checking out the beats in it. I need a resource, so Iā€™m going to make this thread into the resource.

I play with a band that does a lot of trad Irish folk songs, and other modern folk music, and a little light rock. I am a great singer, but a meh guitarist ā€“ I got the mini to practice with. I donā€™t have actual sheet music for most of our repertoire. so Iā€™m trying to figure out what kind of beat each song we do uses, our trad songs, lot of them seem like 3/4 ā€“ not a lot of 3/4 choices in the mini but hopefully enough to make it work. I also just like to jam. I think the mini is a cheap quick fix for that! I love the fact that I donā€™t need to plug an instrument into it to get a beat ā€“ I play a lot of unusual acoustic instruments that donā€™t plug in.

Tonight, or this weekend, Iā€™ll pull the few references to songs for the mini from the song finder, and list them on this thread, and Iā€™ll add my own ā€“ please feel free to add your own.

Here is a song list for just the mini

I really donā€™t like the format ā€“ but this was best I could do on the fly. Iā€™ll work on it more later ā€“ but I thought all the people with a Mini deserve a concise list.

Iā€™m getting together with the band this weekend, so Iā€™ll update this list with some trad Irish songs Monday. Happy jamming!

Maybe we can coordinate effortsā€¦ I just found your post, so weā€™ve been working independently with the same idea. My list is at the following link:
http://forum.mybeatbuddy.com/index.php?threads/beatbuddy-mini-catalogue-of-genre-patterns.6970/
Can I get your permission to incorporate some of your suggested patterns as examples within my own chart? Also, feel free to comment on my format.

FYI, excel does have searchable formats, but I recall that it is not an allowable format for upload. We may have to catalogue using excel and then just publish different reference charts sorted by band, song name and genre.

If we get enough content, maybe we can request a separate category on the forum just for mini tips and resources.

Thank you for all your work. I hope you donā€™t mind, but I took your list and added commas (and deleted some where necessary), to make a .csv file that will open in Excel you can then sort by song, band or beat type. Just remove the .txt and save as .csv and you are good to go.

Kirt and all, thanks for aboveā€¦I added another ~#85, bringing the total to #225-ish. Probably more than I need  This is a wonderful technical age to be a musician. I separated the drum kit and BPM into separate columns, comma delimited, so you can sort on either in excel. (Same .csv.txt file type, although I saved mine from excel and renamed it, if that matters.)

You have all done a great job collaborating on the ā€œsongs and beatsā€ spreadsheet. Iā€™ve used something very similar for my SR-16 to build medleys and set lists, at least until the SR-16 was retired. Letā€™s keep it going!

Iā€™m hoping that the ā€œmini pattern catalogue fileā€ mentioned above is a good resource for a beat buddy mini owner that is trying to match up a pattern/rudiment to a song thatā€™s not on your songs and beats list, or is looking to play the song in a different style or genre from what it on that list. I fully agree that the void for the mini resources needs to be filled. In any case, if you have no objections, I would like to use the ā€œsongs and beatsā€ csv file as it builds to flesh out the style/comment column in the ā€œmini pattern catalogueā€. Of course, still invite suggestions on further refinement of the ā€œmini pattern catalogueā€ linked above in the thread.

My hope is that we can get both of these resources developed to a point where we can get a sticky for mini resources within the forum. Perhaps we should brainstorm some strategies that we, the users, can employ to make that happen.

Thank you for adding all the great songs! I appreciate all the work that has been done. I was feeling sort of left out because there wasnā€™t really the support for the Beatbuddy Mini. This is a great resource to have.

Thanks! This list is quite resourceful!

Forgot to say thanks. Posted the question a while back and tracked for a while and figured I must be one of the few mini owners. Came back a few months back - and wow! Side note - my mini was acting up - when I turned or just touched the knobs - the settings would change. It was hard to change settings. I sort of stopped using it. Then I got a bright idea that I should tell Singular Sound. They replaced it well after a year (2-year warranty). Good to know it is a good company and it is being supported by generous users. Enough kind words - back to the woodshed.

Thanks for the list. As I go through our 180 song repertoire and find the appropriate settings I will post to the forum in Excel format.

iā€™m new, considering purchasing the bb mini or the full sized one, donā€™t know! i have the alesis sr16 it doesnā€™t seem to do what i need. i sing predominately country ballads. my friend has the full size one, but heā€™s a pro bass player from Ireland, and it seems great for him.
we do a number of songs in your list, which he is checking out with his list from the full unit to see if there is any similarity.

i posted yesterday. my friend is having trouble matching the mini list to the full size BB list he has made.

My friend with the full sized BB says the list works on his but his choices re songs are different. He has a larger selection to choose from.
That being said, i will be purchasing the BBMini. We both have the Alesis sr16 and disagree on choices.
