Hi - Using aeros/BB/MM for gigs and they work great! However, the songs take a 15-20 seconds to load -
I use on song to select… it takes 5-10 seconds for aeros to visibly respond to the midi song select and then 10+ seconds to actually load the song.
(FWIW, I don’t typically have very involved/ high data ‘songs’ - two or three loops of 4-8 bars… maybe 2 or 3 tracks, but even empty songs that I have set up as templates take a long time)
Is this just how it works for now? Has anyone found ways to shorten this up? (i’ve been asking about this for a while, but after troubleshooting an issue yesterday, I had one song open up nice and fast, but then it was back to waiting, so I thougth maybe there’s something I’m missing)
Thank you for reaching out! The Aeros does need some time to load songs, and there isn’t a workaround for this. I recommend ensuring that you have the latest firmware installed. Additionally, if you’re using an SD card, make sure it’s a Class 10 card for faster loading speeds.
thanks for getting back on this. Just to make sure the issue is clear, there are 2 delay points -
it takes the Aeros several seconds to respond to the midi command. Midi command gets sent, BB changes songs, but nothing happens on Aeros for 5-7 seconds.
Then, once it responds, i see the song change on aeros, and the song loading also takes several seconds.
I do have latest version and fastest SD card. I can understand that it takes a few seconds to load the song. What I don’t understand (and might be fixable) is the long wait for the aeros to respond to midi command. Shouldn’t that pretty instantaneous? the BB responds right away, my hx stomp responds right away, etc. - event the Aeros responds immediately to commands from the Midi Maestro…
Not understanding why this is a problem - i’m using onsong and BB responds right away to the midi commands, so why wouldn’t the aeros?
PS - on the posted instructions, I see this: ## 1. How to set up a song with MIDI Song Select on the Aeros
Step 1: Open the song, and edit the song settings (click the pencil icon in the Loop Studio Dashboard or use the hands free slideout option). There are three relevant settings: MIDI Song Select and the MSB and PC setup.
Step 2: Enable MIDI Song Select. Once enabled, the user can set which MSB (0-127) bank and which PC command (0-127) will be required to open the song. It is possible to only set the PC value to open a song (v5.1.1 or later). - what does this mean?
Hi - if you’re using Onsong to send midi commands to load songs in aeros, are you also seeing this issue: (my set up is ipad > BB > Midi Maestro > Aeros
