I’m looking at sorting out song endings. I often end a song with a simultaneous pause and cymbal crash, just hitting both foot switches at the same time. How do I replicate that in BBMO? This does cause a second problem though, being that if I do that then the song is only paused, so I can’t move to the next song with the foot switches. Second question, can I assign the left foot switch to be an outro trigger instead of an accent in play mode? (Assuming I can set the outro as ending with a cymbal crash)
I typically pick one of the fills in the song to use in the Outro section. It usually has the crash at the end already, and if not you can add it easily.
If you just want the main beat you could copy that into the outro and add the crash as well.
Thanks for that, I guess the other question for that is how I add the cymbal crash? The fills are often too long, I want to be able to pick the exact moment and stop the beat.
I think this is possible only with a MIDI controller I mean with one press. Your current way is the other solution but it requires two presses
BB outro happens at fixed point but if you first pause then outro then it can happen at any point Then you’re out of play mode so without midi controller this could be the best solution
Edit: I think you could also build an external footswitch where press would pause and release would outro so that way one press would be enough But as said this is a DIY solution
Hi Southlander,
First question: To replicate that in the BBMO, you can add a crash to the outro as you see fit. To completely stop the song while paused, you should consider the following:
1.) Press the Drum Set and Tempo knobs simultaneously to access the settings menu.
2.) Select “Main Pedal.”
3.) Within the Main Pedal settings, locate the “Outro” option and disable it.
4.) Return to the settings menu and select “Footswitch” option and select “Footswitch #1 Function.”
5.) Choose “Paused - Outro Fill” to ensure that the beat is stopped when using the first footswitch after pausing.
This will prevent the beat from automatically restarting after it’s been stopped.
By following these steps, you’ll be able to pause the song with the second footswitch and finish it without an outro using the first footswitch (only when the beat is paused). If you decide you want to include the outro at a later time, you can always enable it again in the Main Pedal settings.
Another solution is going to the Settings - Main Pedal - “Start Beat”. Set it to “Release”. This way, when you pause the song with the footswitch, holding down the main pedal will clear/finish the song. Both methods achieve the desired outcome, but this one preserves the footswitch’s other function.
Second question: Yes, you can. Go to settings, footswitch, then set “footswitch 1 function” to “playing and outro.”
Thanks! great advice
