Step by Step Setup - Beat Buddy

Will do. Thank you

Did you follow the instructions provided with the premium content? That’s usually a good starting point.

If you have the BeatBuddy Manager (BBM) installed on your computer along with the bbworkspace (BBW) folder in your documents folder, you’re off to a good start. Your project should be installed in the BBW folder and if that’s working, you can try to install the premium content again. This time though, unzip the premium content file to your desktop and then use the BBM - File - Import - Folder (navigate to the folder you just unzipped on your desktop and select the file with the .pbf extension and press Open).

If you’re still have issues, then by all means do as Brennan has suggested and reach out to Support. Let us know how it turns out.

Maybe I’m just used to the way Apple provides software, but am I the only one who feels like this BB Loader and BBMO is from the 1990s? Lawd, you have to export a song and re-import it to create a new song. I’ve only taken a quick look at this software and it hardly feels like it’s worth all of the micromanagement to get it setup. Why can’t we take a song, like Blues 3, use it has a template to create a new song, then modify the new song settings to dial it into to what we really need, usually the tempo, for example.

The basic library of songs is plenty comprehensive for me; all of the tools are there. But converting those songs into a playlist that has my real songs is hardly worth the effort to setup.

I’m probably missing something, but it seems like we are lacking meaningful youtube videos on how to use this product intelligently. Reading the online manuals makes sense if you’re looking for some nuance on how to do something, but it’s definitely not the way to get a new user’s first project up and running. We used to say RTFM in the 90s; I thought that phrase went the way of Livingston routers.

You can do so much more easily with the BBMO than with the BBM. The latter required a user to export and then import a song in order to copy a song while preserving the original. With the BBMO, a user can duplicate the beat and move it to another folder and edit the beat settings.

Thanks @persist. My first impression was not great, but I’ll probably take another shot at it tomorrow. I tend to be a slow learner and not an early adapter. Hopefully round 2 will build off or my first try and the hill will not be quite as steep.

Ask for as much help as you need. Found the user manual to be pretty much required reading to get the most out of the BBMO.

If videos weren’t so tedious to make, I’d be happy to create them but frankly, I get more pleasure from working on posting the songs.
