The file Time is either incomplete or not even close

I downloaded the BB file Time, added it to the BB Manager and played it back. It’s all dead air for several measures (I get that-the songs beginning is clocks ticking). Waited for the drums and all that’s on the file is 2 taps on a drum, vacant space, 2 taps, etc, repeating. Nothing else . The actual drumming is missing throughout. Am I missing something here? (I was also hoping for a clock ticking in the beginning of the song, or at least a drum simulating a ticking clock which would be nice). But the file is an unusable one as it is written. Please advise if there is more to that drum track if I missed something. Thanks.

All three versions of Time use the same kit.

Did you open the BBM Drum Sets tab, scroll to the bottom of the list of drum sets and check the box for the Time kit? If you didn’t do that, the kit for the song will not be active and you will not hear the complete and nice job Phil_Flood did with this song and kit!

Once you do that, you should hear the clock, drums, bass, keys and choir.

NOTE FOR BBMO USERS: Since the Time kit exceeds 100Mb, you might have problems saving your project. I didn’t—yet, but expect to have problems saving the project.

Negative. Nothing happening. Checked File>Import song. Clicked Time-128bpm OPB. That DL’d the song to BB. The song Time appears. Opened the BBM Drumsets tab on top of BB next to Songs tab Scrolled down. There is no box for the Time kit. So I have nothing to activate. Main drum loop in song file shows NULL. I’m lost. Don’t know what else I can do. I must be missing something. All the drop down list shows is- New Drumset, Open drumset, save drumset, close drumset, add instrument, sort instrument. The song file does show Time 128 BPM Kit in the default drum set box.Clicked play=silence. Think I need a step by step. Thanks

I’m assuming that you have imported the drum set Time_128_BPM_kit.

If you have not imported the drum set, you will need to do the following:

  • BBM - File - Import - Drum set
  • Your next step is to select the Drum Sets tab which is next to the Songs tab. The tabs are located beneath the Virtual Machine. The tabs may not be obvious due to a bug causing them not to render properly at tabs with text.
  • When the Drum Sets tab is open, scroll to the bottom and check the box next to Time 128 BPM kit.
  • Save your project
  • Select the Songs tab and play Time.
  • Enjoy

I deleted Time and then in BBM- File-Import Song-Time.
That put the Time track back in BBM.
Then in BBM. File-Import-Drum set…message has a yellow triangle with a ! inside it. It says Drum set Time128 BPM is already in the project with identical content. Nothing to do here.
So I click the Drum sets tab (next to Songs tab. Box drops down. There is no Time 128 BPM kit in the drop down box.
Try to play the track…nothing there. I thought I could just download the song into the BBM. Do I have to write a whole new project?
Maybe a corrupt download?

It’s possible that your download was somehow corrupted.

  • Delete the zip file and other Time files from your computer.
  • Use the BBM to delete the Time song(s) and all instances of the Time drum set.
  • Save your project.
  • Quit the BBM and then relaunch it.
  • Download the Time file from Dropbox and unzip it.
  • Import the drum set and check the box.
  • Import the song and save your project.
  • Try playing it. If it doesn’t work, check that the drum set appears in the Drum Sets tab and is still checked.

Let us know.

Deleted all files related.Deleted Time songs & drumset from BB. Saved. Closed the BBM. Downloaded Time file from dropbox. Unzipped it saved to desktop. Imported drumset. There is NO box to check, instead, this came up

Imported song, saved project…tried playing…not even 2 taps on a drum as before. Nothing. Drum set tab shows this

The drum set tab shows no drum sets. Just lets you choose between new drumset, open drumset, save drumset, etc. Clicking ‘save drumset’ shows…“Drumset is empty” There must be at least one valid instrument (including a wave file).
So I guess I probably won’t be ableto get this one because I did everything as you instructed.

Giving up. Trying all day to get this. It’s 20 past midnight. I’ve deleted and re-downloaded at least 5 times today. Now I can’t even get one tap on the file. When clicking play song, all that happens is the bars scrolling across the BB on top And, yes the volume is on full on my computer, and all the other songs in the BBM play. Thanks for trying. Goodnight

I didn’t read everything but based on the beginning I started wondering that did you download two different files from the forum? One file is the song and the other is the drumset :relieved:

You need both as the song contains the timing etc and drumset contains the actual sounds :yum:

Sorry but you are not selecting and opening the Drum Sets tab. You’ve been opening the BBM menu for Drumsets.

If you click on the tab instead of the Drumsets File menu, you’ll be presented with a list of drum sets.

THANK YOU SIR. I now consider myself an idiot. When I clicked drum set on the correct tab as you just explained to me…I then had the Time 128 drum set there. I never deleted it, but the box was unchecked. I then checked the box…then downloaded Time again. I crossed my fingers and clicked play…IT PLAYED…Every thing played…and what a fantastic job Phil did. Yesterday I kept clickin the Drum Set box on top and kept expecting a different result. That’s the definition of insanity. Anyway…thank you so much. I will be working on Time today in my music studio.[quote=“bf1024, post:1, topic:38753, full:true”]

And to think…all I had to do in the multiple times I downloaded then deleted that file was to find and check the correct drum set box. I guess trying to get that song Time, kinda ‘wasted away the hours that made up a dull day’. And I was indeed “waiting for someone or something to show me the way”.
Thanks again.

No, it was simply user error on my part…not finding or checking the correct drum set box. My bad.
