Trigger RPO with External Switch

Hi,

I’m wondering if there’s a way to use an external foot switch or MIDI controller to simply trigger the Record / Play / Overdub functionality.

I’m trying to figure out a way to easily trigger and stop recording from my electronic drums (Alesis Nitro).

With the BOSS 505 I was able to use a simple external switch to trigger RPO which meant I could have small switch by my kick pedal, hit to start recording, hit again to play. But looks like Aeros doesn’t have the expression pedal doing anything yet?

Any ideas if the MIDI can do this? And how to set it up?

I don’t have the chart in front of me, but there is a midi command for that. You’d just have to configure the controller to send the right CC command to the Aeros.

Hey there, you can always find all MIDI commands for our units here.

We have a simple RPO emulation, simple meaning we do not have the buttons fully emulated (respond to double taps and holds for mute and undo), you will only tap through the RPO/ROP commands based on your device setting.
