Hi Folks. trying to write a backing track for a 3/4 song( Gravity -John mayer) seems the BB does not work well with a 3 beat song…
Can anybody give any pointers?
Many Thx
The BBM midi editor doesn’t change the number of “ticks” when you change the time signature. I suggest starting with an existing ¾ song or import a ¾ midi track and work from there.
hi Andrew. thx for reply.
so how do I change the time signature then?
could you send a link to some gd songs and midi tracks compatible with bbm? many thx
In the default content library, there are 8 songs in 3/4 time:
- Brushes Beats/Brushes 4- 3/4 Shuffle Waltz
- Brushes Beats/Brushes 5- 3/4 Half time Shuffle Pop
- Jazz/Jazz 9- 3/4 swing, Waltz
- World/Spanish Buleria
- World/Buleria w brushes
- World/Spanish 3/4 beat- brushes
- Metronome/Metronome- 3/4
You could start with any of those.
If you want to create your own song, export the song and import it to another folder and edit from there.
Another option is to buy a premium library
MEGA PACK- ALL IN 3
or JOHN MAYER- BEATS IN THE STYLE OF
or you can purchase Gravity alone at Single BeatBuddy Songs | Premium Library for BeatBuddy
I discovered this trick a long time ago, I hope it helps.
How to create a 3/4 (or any other Time Signature) BB part using the BB MIDI Editor:
-Top menu: Songs > New Song
-Create new pattern (RMB on Main Loop)
-Set desired Time Signature (left box)
-Click on Quantize (left box)
-Add a note on the first column, on any instrument
-Click on Apply (window closes)
-Edit the part (RMB on the part)
-Build your beat
*RMB=Right Mouse Button
That’s all!
Cheers!
Thanks! Now I can make that eighth-note shaker I’ve been wanting to do in 6/8 time.
