Hey all! If you don’t already know, here’s the surest way to have your backing tracks properly synced to your Beatbuddy beats! I know some favor having beats “baked in” with the backing track BUT you then rob yourself of being able to access fills and other BB functions that can add texture to your performance.
First… Save midi file of your beat from BBMO to a folder in your desktop.
Open your favorite DAW.
Add enough tracks (with correct BPM set) to accommodate all your backing track WAV files and one track (with Beatbuddy VST fx ON) for your BB midi file. Then just line backing tracks up to match the beats while making sure the lengths of backing tracks match your midi file EXACTLY. If your DAW has a grid function (like Reaper does) make sure to turn that function on to make length exact before rendering. Scrutinize audio to make certain. After that, go ahead and render your tracks. Then follow Aeros manual instructions for backing tracks and Huzzah!! Though I did make sure to slightly fade in and out my backing tracks before rendering, I did not add a tail to them before rendering and also when uploading to Aeros did not add the Fade out or 360 millisecond thing that your prompted to use and they all worked exactly as I wanted them to. But you may still need to do such.
If you usually route specific instruments to either left or right channel in Aeros, be sure to hard-pan your tracks properly in the DAW and to render tracks in stereo. I ended up damn near blowing my guitar speakers by not making sure my bass was panned to the left which is where it’s routed out of Aeros to my bass amp.
Lastly, if (like myself) you write your own backing tracks for originals or remakes, you can of course just record to the midi beat file in your DAW and follow the same steps.
That is… Unless your backing track breaks an Aeros Rule. If your backing tracks are pretty standard, you shouldn’t have an issue.
