Specifically, I’ve created a version of The Smiths “How Soon Is Now” and I was wondering if it was possible to use the footswitch crash button to trigger a midi of the guitar slide sound? And if it could be done, could it play over the beat, similar to the crash?
Thanks!
You need a wav (44.1khz, 16 bit) of the slide sound. Place it in the Accent Hit portion of the song in BBM. Then you can trigger it at will using the footswitch. If using the Midi Maestro Beat Buddy presets, the process is different, as those accent hits pass midi through to the BB drumkit. In that case, you would, in fact, replace the wav file for the crash in the BB drumkit with your guitar slide wav. Then by pressing the button assigned to the crash, you’d get the guitar slide. Of course, you would also need to be sure thst there are no other midi notes in the midi parts which would have triggered the crash. Those would need to be moved to a different cymbal.
