Using Beatbuddy 1 songs on Beatbuddy 2

Hi. I just bought a BB2 to to replace a long used BB1. I have a ton of content on my computer from the BB1 and was under the impression I could use that on BB2. BUT, I’m trying figure out how. The manager online does not help (in fact it is not really user friendly). Searches also seem to show BB1 content may cause 2 to “freeze” up. WTF? Pretty frustrated right now with this thing. I’ve gone back and forth with support and sort of solved one issue with purchased content (sort of). Thought I’d try here. Thanks in advance

You absolutely can use your BB1 content on your BB2. If you’re uncomfortable that you’ll mess up your SD card, make a backup copy of your current BB1 SD card and try it out in your BB2. If the songs play on your BB2, they will work properly with the BBMO.

I’m assuming you’ve either read the BBMO User Manual or David’s introductory comments on getting your project up and running on the BBMO. The Cliff Notes version is to:

  • make a new folder on your computer desktop.
  • select and copy the contents of your SD card and paste them to that new folder.
  • open the BBMO and press Open Project
  • navigate to and select the new folder on your desktop
  • press Select and then Approve
  • your folders, beats and drum sets should now be available for editing in the BBMO.

The BBMO User Manual does a good job of showing users how to use and get the most out of the software. It’s well worth your time to read and use as a reference. I have read everything and watched every video. Did everything step by step, and it is still weird and wonkey. Sorry. Issue one is that apparently I need to upload all the default content and all of my songs every time I log in. There’s no way to save anything that I can see. The old BB software and the ability to hook into the pedal directly, create songs and beats and load from the computer worked great.

Then as far as BB1 files…I have that all ON my computer. I’d love to convert them and load direct onto SD. BUT, since you can’t save anything online, if I use the methods I found, I would convert and not be able to download to use. OR I can’t see a way.

Hello,
I notice too when I import some songs on my BB2, nothing is happening.
I don’t kno why. I’m talking about songs found on this forum. When I can, I try to found another versions…

These could be songs that require a double-tap to start, especially if the song title is in all-caps.
