My apologies if this has been answered already - I searched around on the forum but couldn’t find what I was looking for…
So about a year ago I lost my home in a fire - I lost my aeros loop station and beat buddy. My beat buddy was the original version that I bought back in 2015 and it required a certain midi cable. I know the new version uses a different cable - but here’s my question:
When you buy the beat buddy bundled with the super switch: does the bundle come with the cable you need?
Also, I plan on repurchasing the aeros as well. I’m trying to figure out if I need to buy 2 midi cables or just one.
Oh, also one other question: the difference between the aeros loopers? One is significantly cheaper and thats the one I lost in the fire… is the new version worth the extra money? why is it more expensive?
Again, apologies if these questions have been answered already… I’ve just been out of the loop for awhile, been super busy rebuilding my life.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Although it’s not advertised whether or not it comes with a TRS patch cable, it in fact comes with a cable with two right angle plugs.
If you’re just connecting the BeatBuddy (BB) and the Aeros, you’ll only need one MIDI patch cable however, I recommend you have a second one on hand in case you are using another MIDI enabled pedal or if your MIDI patch cable fails. Always good to have backup.
Depends on the environment you play in. Many of the early adopters of the Aeros reported that the foot switches were loud and distracting for acoustic musicians or when recording in their studio. In response, Singular Sound introduced the Gold Edition with foot switches that were much quieter. Otherwise the two pedals are functionally the same. If you play amplified and loudly, the OG pedal should work fine, otherwise, the Gold Edition pedal will work fine in a loud or a quiet environment.
The BeatBuddy (BB2) pedal comes with an SD card and the Default Content but you might want to buy a couple of extra 32Gb SDHC class 10 cards; one for backup of the BB2 and the other for the Aeros since it does not come with an SD card.
