Adding songs, drumkits etc

I have quite a few edited songs already on my card and obviously also on the card clone I have on my Mac. I have recently got a bunch more songs and a couple of extra drumkits from another user. That means I now have two folders which look the same, obviously differently named. I can open up either folder, they both have the default content, one then also has my songs, the other has some extra songs and drumkits. How do I add the new songs and drumkits to my folder without overwriting the work I’ve already done? Ideally I obviously want to have one folder which has everything in it. I’m sure this is obvious, but the first thing I tried on a copy of my card simply erased all my edited songs.

The solution I’m going to suggest will require use of the BeatBuddy Manager (BBM) Online (BBMO). If you have not downloaded and read the user manual, now is a good time to do so.

From the description in your post, it sounds like you are using “folder” to describe your “project” (the content of your SD card) and that you also have a project stored on your computer.

To provide an extra measure of safety, make a copy of each of your SD cards (Project 1 and Project 2) and the Computer Project (existing project folder on your computer). You can do so by inserting your SD card in your Mac slot reader, selecting the card on your desktop and pressing CMD-D (this will duplicate your card and contents into a single folder). Eject your SD card from your computer.

Here’s an outline of the process:

  1. Use the BBMO to create a New Project on your Mac desktop; it will become the project with all of the content you want to consolidate;
  2. Open Project 1 (one of the two projects you want to merge) in the BBMO;
  3. Select and export each drum set to your desktop (your Mac desktop will be less cluttered if you put them in a new folder as a temporary holding place);
  4. While still in Project 1, export the song folders to your desktop;
  5. Now open Project 2 and repeat steps 3 and 4;
  6. Open your New Project in the BBMO
  7. Import each drum set from your desktop;
  8. Import each song folder from your desktop;
  9. Save your project (make sure it’s on your computer and not one of your SD cards);
  10. Verify your New Project has all of the drum sets and songs that you want;
  11. Use the BBMO to Sync to SD Card—this should copy your consolidated BB content to an SD card and you can repeat the process for your backup SD card.
  12. Verify one of the SD card contents on your pedal.

There are probably other methods of accomplishing the same thing but this one will work and it’s about as efficient (at least for me) as I could make it.

Thanks, Yes I’m using BBMO, This is the method I’m using, I was really looking to see if there was a more efficient way than importing each drumset / song individually. Basically a “merge” function

Depending on the version of your macOS, the BBLoader may not launch.

It has been reported not to play friendly with projects built with other BB managing apps.

I’m only using BBMO

You should be able to select several songs and import them all at once. Same goes for drum sets. I have not tried it with the folders.
