Announcement: The First BeatBuddy Plug-In for your DAW (FREE BETA)

Looks like we’re in the same boat.

The strange thing is that everything was working perfectly well with these versions (Reaper 7.28, BBEPluginM1Mac_0.0.9) before I moved the folder.

I’ve just opened a thread, thank you.

Thanks for reporting.

This last worked for me with macOS 15.1. I’ll have to test it with Catalina to see if it’s still working on that computer.

ADD: I tested the plug-in with Catalina and 0.0.9 still works with Logic Pro 10.5.1 and Reaper 7.2.8.

I’m kinda thinking that it might have something to do with a recent macOS update. I’ll provide Apple with feedback.

Can we get this plugin in a LV2 format so that it is operating system independent? I use Ardour and/or Reaper on Pop_OS! Linux (an Ubuntu version), and I use lots of LV2 that don’t care about the OS and work on any DAW. Seems like that would be easier to maintain and distribute.

Thanks. It’s a great idea to be able to use your drum kits in a DAW. I hope I’ll be able to try it out someday.

BeatBuddy is the best songwriting partner I have ever had  Speaking for myself and likely all songwriters out there, having a plugin that has similar controls and the same library/sound that’s on my BB pedal would be a huge improvement to my workflow. Getting all of that in plugin format for MacOS 15.x and Logic Pro 11.x so that it can already have the correct tempo and the basic edit & save functions that other plugins provide would be amazing - and I can’t get it soon enough…lol - because I have a bunch of songs that I want to get into Logic that I have written on top of BeatBuddy patches.

Currently, it is a pain in the ___ to play the BeatBuddy into Logic and try to time it exactly with the Logic click/clock. Having a plugin would remove all of that and introduce plugin edit/save functions that I mentioned earlier. I have never used the BeatBuddy live and likely never will - but as a songwriting tool for locking in lyrics, vocal phrasing and for excellent, new rhythm ideas to write over, this thing is frankly priceless to me and I would never part with it.

Being able to do what I do on the pedal (select BB folder > select Patch) and select the drum set and then save those settings in a BB plugin with the BB folder and Patch name is all I need. I often only use one patch to write a song over, but if there is a drag & drop capability to drag patches from the same folder or even different folder to build a song - that would be perfect and exactly what I need!

One final note - even if the above mentioned functionality is released in a plugin, I will continue to use my BB pedal when I come up with new song ideas, because the pedal interface is so quick, easy and familiar to me - but once I have the patch I like - being able to open up a BB plugin in Logic and set it to what I was using on the pedal when I wrote it and having the same sound come out of the speakers and in the song in Logic would make me extremely happy as a BB customer and user. Sometimes BB has a specific snare, etc. sound that I simply can’t replicate in Logic, without wasting a bunch of time and/or getting frustrated, when all I want to do is make music.

Thank you for your feedback! I’ll forward it to the team.

Another recommendation is to have a better walkthrough video on your YouTube channel as to how to best use the features you have “on the truck” today in the BB plugin - and anything close to or helpful for the songwriting workflow I mentioned above in my post from yesterday.

I know this plugin is in beta mode - but if you want more customers to kick the tires and give you feedback before it’s released / GA (and simply get interested in this plugin so that they buy it) any enablement videos you can make for the plugin would be a huge help and likely result in more plugin purchasing and revenue for you there. I also don’t quite understand how I can get the default and Premium library currently on my BeatBuddy pedal into this plugin so that I can use that content in the plugin. And one basic thing is simply how the heck to I get BeatBuddy (plugin or directly from the pedal) to start at the first bar of my song in Logic when I hit record

Thanks for any assistance you can provide on the above.

Hi, I’d like to re-download the plugin but link send me to an empty onedrive page. What am I doing wrong ?

Then :

merci Marco, mais même problème : la page OneDrive affiche “Please

I just checked the download link this morning and it’s working fine for me. If you’re having trouble accessing it, I recommend trying a different browser, or even your phone, to see if that helps. Sometimes browser settings or cached data can cause issues with certain links. Let us know if it works for you!

Give you my link : 107.77 MB file on MEGA

That was the trick. Safari didn’t like it, but Firefox did.
Thanks for your help !
