Thank you for the information, but there’s not much we can do.
Unfortunately, we will not be supplying any legacy versions other than the Catalina version, Sonoma is the latest OS available for mac and will soon even be replaced by Sequioa
In essence, we will only be creating new versions supported by Sonoma or any newer Mac OS versions afterwards
Catalina is the last stable build that many intel macs can use and has the largest share of users worldwide, this is why we chose to support it.
@BrennanSingularSound Thank you for your prompt reply. I will continue to use my current setup, which works flawlessly.
Unfortunately, one less customer.
Cheerio!
Brennan, thanks the computer is intel based and shall try the Sonoma.
I tried both Somona and Catelina both installed ok. Was able to call up the plugin in Logic. Was able to use drum set. However only able to play single part to a drum. No presets were not possible to play, was it suppose to run the preset from Beatbuddy plugin?
I will note however, if the plug in is opening and making sound in one place it should work in the other. If you can please try to open it again in each daw and send the logs for each (specifying which is which) for the plug in to support@singularsound.com, we can at least look into why it may be freezing.
Thanks!
Logs can be found in:
Macintosh HD> Users > “User” > Library > Singular Sound > BeatBuddyLogs_xxxxx.txt
Please make sure you review the QuickStart guide on how to load custom drum sets
If you have a Project Folder with a DRUMSETS folder in it, you can select the DRUMSETS folder to be your Directory for the plugin. All drum sets in the folder will appear in the list.
You must also be connected to the internet for the beta plug in to work.
Thanks for the question let me know!
Thank you got it to work fine.
This is great, thanks, I missed it back in June. Works fine on M1 Mac. I have the BB Premium Collection and I haven’t been using the BB for gigs (been making drum sounds with guitar, shaker, tambouring etc.). I felt that it was a purchase I wouldn’t use much, but now it is useful for my studio projects and quick practice. I like the ability to use BB manager to Export the MIDI files from the Premium Collection to my DAW. It would be great if the BB Plug-in could somehow convert the BBS MIDI files you own from the “SONGS” folder saving the step of using BB Manager.
BETA 0.0.9 is now available and is still fully FREE!
Yes!!!
Any idea why my latest drumset doesn’t play the instruments I’ve added? I’m using Reaper with the latest VST for BB. Percussion works fine (based on Standard). Plays fine in Manager.
This is no longer working for me M1 Mac with Sonoma. I tried reinstalling, restarting. Gives and error and crashes logic. Shows as failed Audio Unit in other DAW Luna. " An Audio Unit plug-in reported a problem which might cause the system to become unstable. Please quit and restart Logic Pro.
I don’t see the point, there are so many of them today and they are a billion times more accomplished.
There are a lot of small programs at beatbuddy, but none of them are really finished.
The biggest handicap is the main software… and for VST3 it should have been released a long time ago and for free.
So happy to discover the vst plugin to emulate the BB. I successfully tested it on my Mac M1 in Reaper (v7.28) for a test project that I’d left on the desktop. Once the project was finished, I moved the folder to a directory. Since then, I’ve been unable to use the vst, it crashes Repaer every time I call an instance. Of course, I’ve tried deleting the vst from the directories, cleaning the cache and re-scanning in Reaper, but as soon as I click on the vst3i, Reaper crashes. Any idea what I could try to get it working again?
Hi!
Did you try running Reaper in Rosetta mode?
Would it work again if you put it back on the desktop?
Hi xkim,
I have just tried opening Reaper in Rosetta mode (it is very slow in this mode.)
Reaper - after automatically carrying out a new scan of the vsts - no longer crashes when I launch the emulator but I do not have access to the BB user interface (show UI button) so I cannot use it.
Yes, I tried to put the folder back on the desktop (I should have mentioned this), but I had changed the name of the folder after moving it the first time and I’m not sure of the exact name anymore. I’ve searched but I can’t find in Reaper the path followed by the emulator to find the .drm.
The .drm used (when I run the project in Rosetta mode) is not the one I had used in the initial test project (I had modified it slightly), perhaps Reaper is looking for a path that it can’t find and that causes the application to crash.
I will try to follow your steps tomorrow to see if I can reproduce the issue using macOS 15.3b and Reaper.
I can no longer open BBEPluginM1Mac_0.0.9 in Reaper 7.28 or Logic Pro X 11.1 running macOS 15.3b.
If you still can’t get it working, please create a new thread and post it as a bug report. Include your macOS version as well.
Thank you.
