Nice
Great job!
I do solo gigs regularly with BB, midi sync with Boss Looper, and it works fine, and the latin drum set with the latin grooves is particularly effective, cuz on solo guitar, it’s quite hard to emulate a true salsa groove, and a few other grooves,
There are some things I need to get better at … like … assigning the beats (that I use the most) so they are VERY close together, so I don’t have to SCROLL to find them, but I have not had the time to study this problem. Any Help? Much appreciated.
Also, I find, using a volume pedal on BB is good for endings,
Volume pedal is also good for when I DO NOT want the BB … (so I don’t have to bend down and turn the volume off)
I have been Gigging with my BB for 2+ years… I run a bose L1, bose S1 Pro (Monitor). Mackie Proffx8 Board, TC Helicon Harmony G, Route 66 Compressor
I run everything as I am a one man band - lol I try and gig out at least twice a week, but in the winter, I usually slow things down due to the cold and snow…

A little note about the L1 from Bose. I had two of the first generation L1 w/bass and gigged with them for years. About four years ago one of them stopped working. I called Bose to find out where I could have it fixed. They said I couldn’t since they don’t support that system any longer (make circuits and parts for it) and offered to sell me a new one. Well I figured it wouldn’t be long before the other one went so I sold it. Point is this. My L1 was like 7 yrs old and it was garbage as soon as it blew a circuit board. I will never by another Bose product. Just started another trio and use Alto speakers with a Mackie mixer with a Simmons drum amp for the beat buddy. Simmons amp sounds great in position of real drummer BTW
Great job–very nice! I see you’re using an RC-300. Do you have the BeatBuddy as the master or the slave? Also, would you mind sharing your signal path in regard to the BB and RC-300? I noticed you started the BB first, and then started a loop. I’ve had issues with this both synced (and not hooked together). Thank you!
Hey man!!! yes it depends on the song, most times I start just playing with the BB and as the song progresses I might need to loop some chords as backing track for a solo, also depending on the situation I may start the rythm either from the rc or from the BB, depends on what I am doing sometimes even I may start the rythm from the BB and then sync it on the go with the RC by pressing play on a track.
RC 300 HAS to be master, it doesnt work as a slave, it just can´t, that constitutes a real problem because you lose the tempos saved in the BB, the rc has to give the Tempo, that being said, the signal comes out of the rc 300 to the “in” in the beat buddy midi breakout cable.
the rc has to be set to internal in midi settings, this has to be made for each memory bank,
as for the synch problems, It would save you a lot of hazzle to disable the intros in the BB because most of them are longer or shorter than one bar and that makes the rc and BB go out of synch, if like me you insist in using some of the intros a solution is starting the song from the BB and then pressing play to the rc300 when the BB hits the 1st note of the bar. ( by the way I always record one bar in the rc with nothing on it therefore you can start the BB from the rc 300, also always remember to turn the rythm volume knob all the way down in the rc 300 otherwise both rc and BB rythms will sound together making a mess)
Hope this helps! if you need any more tips by all means feel free to contact me in the future
greetings from Mexico!!!
Audience seem to really like it!
Hi everyone! i am a newbie of BB, and started gigging with this machine. i play solo now and i heard this BB, so i purchased it haha. quite challenging because most of the songs i play doesn’t have available demo patch already, so i need to program my songs, i am located in china now and i am gigging 5x a week, so, most of the chinese songs i play, i must really program it. decent sound and doesn’t sound computer at all. still need to learn a lot from you guys. i am still searching for a looper that fits my style… cheers
I’ve been gigging with the Beatbuddy for almost 3 years now. The band is always there to rehearse, they show up on time and are always sober. The best band ever!

Let’s Dance Bowie cover live with help from my beatbuddy
Love it! Kind of has a Sting vibe to it in the choruses as an added bonus. Stock pattern?
Thank you. Not a stock pattern but a Phil Flood creation from here in the forum that I tweaked slightly.
what I have done to solve the problem of having the songs I need close together is the following: The rc 300 works as a controller for the beat buddy changing the memory bank in the rc 300 automatically changes the song in the folder you are in, therefore by using templates in the rc 300 I managed to set the tempo previously so it wont be in the default 120 bpm, and pre programming the tempo set in the beat buddy to the rc 300, with the aid of the beat buddy footswitch connected to the rc 300 as an external controller I can change the memory banks and the beat buddy song simoltanousley . also before you should arrange the order of the songs in your beat buddy using the beat buddy manager, you should take in account that the rc 300 only changes the songs in the first folder of your beat buddy , you cannot change folders with the rc. hope it helps you out, if you have any doubts by all means let me know, greetings
Yes I am using setlist maker with an Android I have problems with my wireless connection Bluetooth I had to download Bluetooth MIDI app that solved that problem… Once I could see that the midi was paired in setlist maker it showed connected ports in and out … Then in midi preset I chose BeatBuddy … Under that hex code had to be FO7F7F 030-204-0402-1808 f7 … Once I put that number in there I was able to go to program changes and put channel 1 folder number and song type number
I’ve been gigging with my BB for a few years, including with previous band. Only problem was a unit failure (luckily just as we were about to encore), so now have a spare BB in my gig bag just in case. Just dumped my Pigtronix Infinity for the Aeros (still messing with this) and now use Midi Maestro to control both. The BB goes through a Fender bass cab into a Soundcraft mixer and PA’s through two LD MAUI 28 G2s. Similar set up with my bass player. We use Sennheiser head mics, makes it easier for me to glance down while I’m singing and check I’m hitting the right pedal. If you’re interested you can find Hedgehog Reality on Youtube.
MIDI on the Ditto x4? They fixed it? When it came out, MIDI was a total bust on that unit.
I would LOVE more info on the footswitch thing you did! I have been using the BB to gig live with my duo and trio since it came out. I am constantly bending over, adjusting volume, changing beats, songs, etc.
ANY help is appreciated.
I use Morningstar MC-8 Midi controler to control everything: Start/Stop/Beat on Beatbuddy, Start/Stop/Loop on Looperboard or RC-500 and guitar presets on Gigboard.
