I used the mini on Venice beach boardwalk in Los Angeles, CA. Got a mini amp and my congas. Put a donation bucket in front me to see if anyone liked my music as they were walking by. I played to several different beats as I performed my solos on the congas. I made over $20 in 2 hours!
NOTE: I had it plugged into a business outlet on the boardwalk (I knew the business owner). I did not even need the money. I just wanted to test the whole YOLO idea out lol.
Now that’s cool.
I’m finally Setting up my “Android Tablet” with BandHelper / Set List" & was wondering what USB midi interface is working best with BeatBuddy ? is anyone having any luck with Bluetooth midi??? Thanks
HI…
I have Bandhelper & BeatBuddy working OK To display my Docs & select the Correct BeatBuddy Song, But I am not able to get the tempos To set ? I think it’s the BeatBuddy Pedal Midi settings… what should the correct Pedal settings Be??
Thanks…
In setlist maker you need to create a preset and use the raw midi field to set tempo. For tempo 120 I called the preset tempo 120 and added this hex code in the raw midi field.
b9 6A 00
b9 6b 78
That should change the tempo on your pedal to 120 when activated.
You can change the last digits to test other tempos
…
Thanks, I gave it a try but it still doesn’t Change the tempo from the BBuddy Default tempo?
I’m sorry I did not see you are using bandhelper. I do not us that. I’m using setlist maker. But I can download and check it out. It should work basically the same way
I just looked at your original screen shot. Try taking out that 1 and 0 in the program change fields. What I had to do was make a separate preset for tempo change. Just the code for tempo change is in the preset.
This is how I have one of my tempo presets setup in bandhelper.

Hi JS,
Thanks for your feedback… I played around a bit more & found the solution.
I changed the settings in “Audio & Midi”… Midi Options…
I added a delay of .1 sec for “Midi Preset order / with delay between”
and now I can enter Both the Song & Tempo in the midi Presets…
Now I only have to figure out how to add the Volume settings??
What would the input be?? for volume?? cc-108 50%vol
This is how I do volume

Thx… That Works!! They all work with one Midi Preset with the “Midi Preset Order” Delay added…
Thats great. Nice to see when things start working as they should. have fun
Hi Guys. I am playing on gigging in a trio. im on guitar and will control the Beat Buddy. I have a keyboardist and a bassist. I am really cracking my head thinking of the best way to run the beatbuddy so that we can all hear the beat clearly so we dont go out ouf tempo, Without resorting to in ear monitoring and all that sort of expensive stuff. Ive read about some of you chaps above running the beatbuddy into a 15 inch monitor. what sort of monitor should i be looking into ?
