I’ve switched over to BBMO to organize my songs in BB. The ability to make different set lists and not have to move the songs around each time make a new one is great. I originally used Arc for my browser as BBMO won’t work with Firefox or Safari but Arc developed a glitch (which has been described before) and I move to Chrome.
All seemed to be going well until I tried to use my one press songs the yesterday and none of them would play through the BB. The screen on the BB doesn’t look the way it does on non-one press songs. (See image) It doesn’t show “Stopped” “Genre” or “Time Signature” and the drum set is not the one for the song.
I tried to reload the one press song into BBMO and the newly imported version synced appropriately and plays through the BB. I don’t have a lot of one press songs so I’ll just re-import them to fix this problem but does anyone have any idea about what happened to corrupt the file?
I’m glad to hear that reimporting the file helped to resolve the problem. It seems that the issue was most likely with the song file itself, but it’s also possible that the problem stemmed from BBMO. Our team is currently working on improving the BeatBuddy Manager Online, so your feedback is valuable.
Have not seen this particular issue reported before and so it’s hard to tell if this is a one-off occurrence or a bug.
However, here are some things to verify when it happens again:
check that you are using your Mac’s built-in slot reader or an external USB media reader when synchronizing your SD card. Some users in the past have reported problems when the pedal is connected via USB to their computer.
check that there is enough space on your SD card and that it is not locked
some Mac users have reported data transfer problems when their folders are hosted on iCloud (YMMV).
When it does happen, try these steps:
make a slight edit to your project, save project and synchronize again; test songs on your pedal.
if your SD card is the original 4Gb, class 4 SDHC, consider replacing it with a faster 32Gb class 10 SDHC (new cards have the correct format right out of the wrapper so no need to erase and put on a new format).
back up your SD card (CMD-D to duplicate it) on your Mac and then use Disk Utility to Erase it to MS-DOS 32FAT.
try using Vivaldi instead of Chrome; I had minor issues using BBMO with Chrome.
if need be, revert to the BBM—this is probably the last thing I would try. Other than the issues that have been reported on the forum about the BBMO, it’s been pretty solid on my Mac using Vivaldi.
You may have tried many of these suggestions and if so, perhaps my post will help other users facing similar problems.
Please let us know if it happens again and what worked to solve the problem.
