BeatBuddy Firmware 4.1.x “Options, lots of options!”

Could someone please update the BB Midi Commands List so I can figure out what options there are for all the new CC’s? In the meantime, can anyone explain CC-121 and the options for it, please? I have no PC at the moment due to real life having it’s way with me. I need to see if I have to go to someone that has one. Thanks in advance.

I have the same question. Replaced 113 with 121 (127 on, 0 off) and it doesn’t fulfil it’s promise.

Please make sure you have it enabled! It is disabled by default
Go to Main Pedal > MIDI Settings > MIDI In > Control Change > Exclusive Transition > Enable

I’m desperately waiting for the feature that lets you ‘re-name’ a song from using the l/r/u/d keys and the knobs (i.e. select character, scroll thru alphabet, etc., etc., then ‘save’), and ‘not’ have to connect to a PC/Mac.
My BOSS GT-1 Guitar Modeling pedal allows this, so i know it’s should just be a software modification.

We appreciate the feedback but we will likely never do this, however you are free to request it as a feature in the appropriate section of forum.

Any word on allowing program and control command out function to control other devices?

This is now working, go to Main Pedal > MIDI Settings > MIDI Out > Song/Folder Select and enable the device by either using Default Mode or Aeros Mode.

This is based on the fixed value set by the song and folder location on the BeatBuddy as I posted above^

Is CC-121 reliant on CC-113 value - 0 to complete a transition? Or is there a CC-121 value - 0? I do not understand when you say it’s the same as CC-113.

You can use the Value 0 commands interchangeably but they all have their own value 0 command

Only issues so far are that occasionally my foot switch button 1 (set to pause / unpause) will occasionally pause / outro!

Also, my button 2 (set to accent when paused) sometimes play the accent and sometimes doesn’t.

Could you possibly DM me a video of this? You could use an unlisted YouTube video to send easily.

Also, I understand that the answer to my next comment lies in the midi pedals… but… it would be nice to support a three button switch now that there are many things that can be done with the foot switch.
For example, I really like putting the transition as a single step on the foot switch. I also love having the outro as a single press on the second switch… but then there is no ability to pause (as far as I see).

Unfortunately, a MIDI controller is the only solution here, HW prevents a 3 button switch

I bought a new midi cable but it still didn’t work again, could it be yamaha’s bluetooth or could it be settings? the yamaha md01 lights up normally and connects normally.
I wanted to send pictures of my settings but here they don’t accept jpeg

Is it possible that my yamaha md01 cable is broken or is it more likely that upadte has changed something?
I already did the downgrade and it didn’t help

Have you checked the midi channels, so you are sending and receiving on the correct channels?

@guifreitas please reach out to support@singularsound.com for further assistance, but it may be the cable is faulty, do you have a cable to switch it with?

Otherwise, you could check that the settings for song select on the BeatBuddy are set as you need. Main Pedal > MIDI Settings > MIDI In > Control Change
And also Main Pedal > MIDI Settings > MIDI In > Progam Change

Make sure all relevant CCs are enabled

I’m trying to update the firmware, and when trying to copy the files onto my SD Card it is saying that it is wrte protected even though it isn’t (Made sure).

Please ensure that the SD card did not physically lock, let me know thanks

I tried 4.1 for about 30 minutes, then I reverted to 4.0. I’m not digging the new “Transition Forgiveness”. I don’t use any one-press beats. I like to hit transitions myself. I spend time rehearsing when to hit transitions in each song, and I had gotten used to how Beatbuddy was doing it, previously.

I am concerned about the “transition forgiveness” too. A lot of premium songs have full bar transition fills where it’s quite different from the main beat. For example, Last Dance with Mary Jane has a full bar at the end of the chorus with a big kick/crash/snare on 1, then a gap, then a fill on beats 3 and 4. I hit the transition button exactly on beat 1 to make it work. It sounds like transition forgiveness will kill that workflow?

Don’t like transition forgiveness. Messed with my prerecorded Aeros loop so it wasn’t synced. Assume that was the cause as it’s never happened before.

The transition forgivness makes transitions feel different. I didn’t care for it. When it’s “forgiving” something, it maybe stays in time, but it sounds clumsy just throwing in the next part with no transition fill. I use the MIDI Maestro to transition out of a pause with the transition fill. This update messes that up. Going back to the previous firmware version gave me my feel back.
