Just got my BB in the mail a couple days ago. Currently updating and has been on the “updating beatbuddy firmware” screen for the last 30+ minutes. I had the BB Manager software open for the first time when i was messing around with the program with the SD card directly plugged in my 10.9.2 mac mini 2011. any thoughts? i dont wanna unplug the power or the sd card but dont know of any other options.
- Remove the SD card from the pedal but do not power it off with card in the pedal
- insert SD card in Mac SD card slot reader and delete all f/w files
- install f/w files; eject SD card
- plug power back in to pedal
- insert SD card to pedal and allow it to update f/w
Let us know if it worked.
worked perfectly! thanks persist!
Glad it worked, Andrew.
Hi All, I have updated in the latest version, and in my set up (BB master to Voicelive3) I get inconsistency in midi sync. Is there a way to return to previous software version? I am playing 4 times a week and I need my set up in a working order. Appreciate any help. Thanks
Did you check your midi settings on both the BB pedal and the VL3? They might have changed and it could be as simple as making sure they are correctly set.
If you have the old f/w version, just copy those files to your SD card. If you can’t find the previous version, please let me know.
To help the developers though, what is it that is not working correctly?
can someone help me. I can’t import anything into manager
Hi,
I need to check the settings as you suggest. Some of the songs are not syncing, for example the BB has 102Bpm and vl3 stays 1 beat above. Just one though. Another strange thing that I need to double check is that I noticed some sounds that were showing same bpm with the loop, and for some reason were out of sync. But I need to double check. Do you know where I can find the old firmware files? Thanks
I’m going to guess that you updated from version 1.4.1 so give me a moment and I will try to upload it to this forum.
Yes, it was 1.4.1. Thanks!
Thanks!!! I will need to go back to this version just to play it safe…
Hi Nikos. If you can provide a little more detail as to what you are doing and what the results are so that we can help you. Right now all I can suggest is that you try following along with the guide http://mybeatbuddy.com/forum/index.php?threads/tutorial-for-bbmanager-version-1-5-0.4301/
If you have already tried following the guidelines, let us know where in the process you are getting stuck.
Yes. Just download the old version back in. Look in your computer for downloads. The older version should be there if you had it before. When I run into problems, I go back to an earlier version quite often til I get the bugs out of the new upgrade. Let me know if you find it. The earlier version than 1.85 is 1.4101 and the one before that is 1.29 and these should still be available from the forum. At least the 1.4101 is still there. Hope this helps.
Sincerely, Fingerstylepicker.
Is the time off by 1 BPM consistent or intermittent? Are you using the most recent VL3 firmware?
Yes, 1 bpm up on the VL3. My VL3 has the latest firmware. I am downgrading for tonight’s gig…
Hope the gig went well.
I don’t understand this drunk think at all. What would be the use? I’m keeping my old firmware because I have no need for gimmicks like that.
But with all the classic tunes that have been released in the addon packages I guess having a drunk guy play them makes them more authentic.
No need to hold back on upgrading the firmware especially since with the upcoming firmware version, you will have the option of hiding the Sobriety (drunk) feature.
That was just one particular feature that is disabled by default. We recommend you still upgrade since the new firmware contains new features and bug fixes.
