I read the BB2 Manual and performed the step by step instructions to create a project. I imported the Drum Kits into the project, but cannot import the songs from the Songs File on the computer or from the SD card into the project on the BBMO. I watched several videos - most of which are for BB1. Can anyone HELP please!
It might be better to try this from scratch. You’re going to ignore what you’ve done before and begin with a new project. I’m going to assume that you’re using BB2 content as well as the BBMO 2.0.3b. Instead of creating a project, you’re going to open a project and give it a new name
- Download and unzip the file to your desktop from this link: Default Content 1.2; this folder contains your project files and it’s your starting point
- You should now have a folder on your desktop named BeatBuddy_2_Default_Content_v1.2-Project_SD_Card
- Launch the BBMO 2.0.3b and Sign In if you haven’t done so
- Press Open Project and navigate to your desktop your newly unzipped folder
- Press Select and then Allow; your project should open with all of the content displayed
- Rename the project by triple-clicking BeatBuddy 2 Default Content v1_2 in the upper left; the entire name should be highlighted; type your new project name and press Enter (or Return); (suggest you also rename the project folder with the name of your project (FolderName Project)—this should make it easier to find if you decide to move it off your desktop
- Press Save Project, Sync to SD Card; Select and Allow, this will take several minutes to complete
- If you have Boutique Beats and drum sets that you want to import, unzip the files to your desktop (this way you won’t have to go digging to find the content); we’ll start with the Boutique Beats
- Press Import Song, navigate to your desktop and select let’s say, the Vintage Machine Beats Vol 1 folder, open it, and you can select any one or all of the files with a .pbf extension; press Open and when done, press Save Project
- Now you’re going to import the drum sets
- Click on the BBMO 2.0.3b Import Drum Sets and navigate to your Vintage Machines Vol 1; select any or all of the 5 drum sets; press Open
- The BBMO 2.0.3b should now display the contents of the Drum Sets tab so once all of the drum sets are showing, press Save Project and Sync Project to SD Card
- Eject your SD card from your computer and with the power off on your BB2 pedal, insert the SD card and turn the pedal on.
- Start listening to and enjoying the content in your project
Very well versed instruction persist! ![]()
Thank you! I found that OneDrive was uploading songs and hadn’t finished. Therefore the Songs folder was empty!
Hi Persist, very clear thanks!
I’m new here and I face one issue, I can’t import some songs (from the songlist), not all only some.
I can import these songs with BBLoader but not with BBMO and when back to BBMO the songs are well imported and I can play it with my BB but I can’t opened it on BBMO with an error message.
I find it weird, I use BB1 4.1.7, did I miss one point?
thank you for your help and support !
Nico
Hi, Nico. Can you provide the song titles that you’re having trouble importing to the BBMO? I will test and let you know.
Hi persist, here is a liste of some songs I can’t load with BBMO, thank you
Is this love - whitesnake
Beatles - Come together with bass
Tighten up - The black keys
AC_DC Top 10 and 10 others
Hi, Nico. Thanks for sharing your observations. I tested all of the songs and the folder. Here’s how I tested:
- Tested in the BBM and was able to successfully import and play all songs.
- Tested in the BBMO with mixed results. Downloaded from the forum a second time in the event that I did not get a good download.
- Is this love - whitesnake: NO JOY
- Beatles - Come together with bass: NO JOY
- Tighten up - The black keys: NO JOY
- AC_DC Top 10 and 10 others: Since this was not the most current folder of songs, I downloaded the most recent version, which is different than the first post in that thread. Here’s the link: AC/DC Top 10 and a dozen others (UPDATED—yet again) - #3 by persist SUCCESS
- I exported the songs (but not the AC_DC since it was working) from the BBM and then tried to import to the BBMO: NO JOY
All this goes back to the bug I reported in this thread: BUG: BBMO 2.0.5 freezes when trying to import songs made using the BeatBuddy Manager (BBM)
These symptoms have been reported to me by Windows and macOS users.
Thank you for the time you spend on it. I’m a Mac user 12.7.6.
Hopefully I’m new because my project file crash and it’s really a mess.
I’ll make a new one only with file imported correctly, it’s a pity for some songs.
but curious to know what’s wrong
If these songs were from a project created in the BeatBuddy Manager (BBM), it might explain what’s happening.
I can’t say I found it on the songlist
Verified same results with Tighten up. I then exported the midi from the Tighten Up sng in BBM (Song v2 file only.) I took that midi and rebuilt the song in BBMO and it works. But, we shouldn’t have to rebuild songs in BBMO to make them work if they already worked in BBM.
Hi Phil, thank you for your feedback. I’m not sure to understand what you did, what’s BBM ? is the same than BB loader, right ? Would have know a file .sng to share now for this song
?
BBM is the older Beat Buddy Manager. One of its features allows you to right click on a song part, and export the part as a midi file. Once you have the song parts exported as midi files, you can reassemble the song in BBMO.
too much complicated for me ![]()
