I’m using a Singular Sound Aeros Loop Studio (Gold) and I’m trying to understand the correct and intended workflow for recording a loop on the Aeros and later reusing that same recording as a backing track for live performance.
Here is exactly what I am trying to do and what is confusing me:
My goal:
Record a musical part (intro, rhythm loop, etc.) directly on the Aeros
Save it
Later load that recording as a backing track (WAV) and play over it when needed
What I am doing now:
I record a loop normally on the Aeros.
I press MENU → SAVE SONG.
The Aeros asks me to save either to Internal Memory or SD Card.
The song name is saved successfully.
The problem:
When I put the SD card into a computer, I see the song/project files, but no usable WAV audio file.
In some cases I see files with 0 KB, or only internal/raw files.
On the Aeros itself, there is no “Export to WAV” or “Bounce” option in the Song menu.
I also see a /BACKING_TRACKS folder on the SD card when viewed on a computer, but this folder is not visible or accessible as a folder on the Aeros (only through the “Load Backing Track” menu).
So at this point I am confused about what is actually possible directly on the device.
My questions:
Is it possible to create a WAV backing track directly on the Aeros Loop Studio, without using a computer?
If not:
Is using the Aeros Manager on PC/Mac the only way to render/export a song to a WAV file?
When saving a song on the Aeros:
What exactly is being saved? (project only? raw audio? not rendered audio?)
What is the official / recommended workflow if I want to:
Record something once on the Aeros
Then reuse it later as a backing track for other songs or performances
I’m not looking for workarounds yet — I just want to clearly understand:
what the Aeros can do
what it cannot do by design
and what Singular Sound considers the proper workflow for this use case.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can clarify this in detail.
Yes, but to date, you still need to use another player (or do some preparation beforehand) to create a true WAV backing track file; the Aeros doesn’t “create” a WAV backing track on its own from scratch without an external source or computer.
What the Aeros can do
The Aeros can record the audio output of any player (smartphone, tablet, multitrack recorder, etc.) in real time and turn it into a long track that serves as a backing track, particularly in Freeform mode.
This “backing track” is then an internal recording of the pedalboard, which you can save to internal memory or an SD card, and then play back in a loop or linearly depending on the options (EOL, parts, etc.).
Managing WAV Backing Tracks on SD Card
The “Gold” firmware allows you to load 44.1 kHz / 24-bit WAV backing tracks (mono or stereo) from an SD card by copying them to the Backing Tracks folder that the Aeros creates on the card.
However, to do this, you must prepare these WAV files elsewhere (typically on a computer or another device capable of exporting to WAV) before copying them to the SD card.
Limitations Without a Computer
The Aeros does not have an internal editor for composing/arranging a backing track from multiple sources or stems without using an external device: you either record what you send it in real time, or you provide it with a pre-made WAV file.
So, “without a computer” is possible if you use another audio player (smartphone, hardware multitrack recorder, etc.) as a source, but not if you plan to do everything solely within the Aeros without any external audio source.
In practice, for you
If you want to completely do without a PC/Mac, the method is to play your backing track from a phone/tablet/drum machine, access the Aeros, record it in real time in Freeform, and then save the song to an SD card or internal memory.
If you’re willing to do some preparation on a computer, the easiest way is to generate your backing WAV file with your DAW (BIAB/Reaper/Studio One), copy it to the Backing Tracks folder on the SD card, and then load it into the song via the Aeros settings.
you need to export your saved song into PC with your SDCard
When open your SDcard on PC navigate to >SOng folder>into this song folder you will find your folder with the named song>Open this folder and you will see a lot of wav files. this is all your tracks.
You can see for ex: CHASP4T1 etc…. pay attention to the 4 last characters this mention your parts and tracks, in this case it’s Part 4 Track 1
Now you need to open your DAW and copy paste or drop all this tracks into your DAW. This will separate all the tracks . now you need to reorganize your entire song with all this parts and when ending Save it to a Wav files and import this wav into your backintrack folder on your sdcard and follow the instructions to let it play into the Aeros
