Saving edited songs fails silently

Anyone had a problem, having edited a song with modified and added tracks, saving the song fails to update the saved project. There is no indication that the save has failed and the save button becomes inactive as it would at the completion of the save operation, but reopening the song returns it to the unedited state.

The above has now occurred for me on multiple occasions

Hi there, what version of the BBMO are you currently using? The version number is shown at the bottom of the page in an open project

Let us know, thank you!

Version is v1.5.6 (2025-09-25)

If you try it on the BBMO beta does it work correctly?

Read more about the beta here:

Get a load error

Unable to load project TypeError: Cannot read properties of null (reading ‘toLowerCase’)

Should this concern me?

Project appears to open, but don’t know if something is missing.

If you get it repeatedly, it probably should.

My experience: it happened one time when opening the BBMO 1.5.6 and the BBMO 2 for the first time.

If it happens again, you will probably be asked to

  • contact Support, support@singularsound.com; Daniel may ask for details
  • share a video of the process
  • what computer OS version
  • what browser are you using
  • where are you opening your project from (computer or SD card)
  • NOTE:, you should be working on your project from your computer and not your SD card. If it’s on your computer, it will help them to know the path to your project folder. Best practice seems to be to keep your project folder on your desktop. Some (but not all) macOS users reported problems when their BeatBuddy (BB) project folder was on the iCloud (for some, it caused latency issues leading to incomplete transfers of data).

So apart from the file opening error everything appears to be working. I was able to modify one of the songs that had previously failed to save, and then save it successfully and export all of the new midi files, however the previous failure didn’t occur every time I saved the updated project so we’ll have to see what happens after a few more tries.

Was there a change made to the beta to fix a project saving problem, or is this suggestion purely speculative?
