Is the snare louder on the motown kit on this or has it been mixed low ?

Not louder relative to which other kits?

It is not louder than say, the Standard kit snare.

I think you’d really have to do your own comparisons rather than rely on my opinion which may be biased.

On the original song the ‘snare’s more prominent, i wondered if it was me using a standard kit that made a difference from the kit used on your file? and if downloading that kit would make a difference to the snare volume. Like you suggested for Joy Division where i dont get any bass drum at all when using the standard kit.

Here’s what you need to know about why I used the Motown Piano & Brass kit.

The Standard kit does not use several of the instruments that are available in the Motown Piano & Brass kit and those drums are the Crash Right Stop, Snare Rimshot, Alt Drum and Count-in. If you’d like to use the Standard kit instead, you’d have to edit the song using the BBMO to

• Move the 35. Alt Bass to 36. Bass Drum
• Move the 40. Rimshot to 38. Snare
• Move the 58. Crash Right stop to the 59. Splash 2 (which won’t sound the same as the Crash stop
• Either Move the 32. Count in to the 37. Cross Stick (and lower the velocity)—or maybe the 42. Hi-Hats Closed; you could always delete the 32. Count in notes altogether
