What songs are you playing with BB & their settings?

Great info here! This is similar to what I wish Beat Buddy would have done - but I got flack for even asking for that request… So thanks again for this - a great start!

Awesome - thanks for sharing!!!

I’d like to see Stranglehold added to the list…I think it’s 12/8 time…does BB even have that?

Hi Scudd. I don’t know the song you’re talking about, but there are some 12/8 beats in the Blues folder. Scroll to the end.

This song list is terrific. I hope someone well demo a song on youtube.

Here’s a few songs I had tried out today:
Another brick in the wall - pop 6 8ths 104bpm
Wish you were here/comfortably numb - rock 1 60bpm
When September ends - Rock 6 - Jungle toms 97 bpm
Stairway to heaven (start intro @ 1 measure before 5th verse) -Rock 3 86 bpm.

I’ll post more later.

Just tried out “Another brick in the Wall” & “Comfortably Numb”. you are spot on with both of them. I play both of those in the set but just hadn’t gotten around to working those ones out. Good job. The list is growing!!!

My song list using factory tracks

Here’s my list so far. To pull off a country half-time feel (which is oddly lacking) I use the polka track slowed down and using brushes. Actually for most of these I went with brushes to get the duller thwappy sound of Ringo or Charlie Watts. I recommend doing the trick of skipping intro fills by using the pause immediately during the intro.

Beatles:
Baby’s In Black: Odd Times - 3, brushes, 104bpm
I Don’t Want to Spoil the Party: World - Polka, brushes, 95bpm

If you search on Google, you can get the bpm of many songs. Just type "song name beats per minute. "

The main purpose of this great topic is not only to find out BPM tempo of the songs people love and play, but also to find the closest matching BeatBuddy preset beats song while we all are waiting for manager software to release so we can start creating our own ones.

Thank you CharlesSpencer (and everyone else who has commented here) this is most helpful!

Cover tunes and beats that go well with em…

Been going through my BB trying to get a list of simple, played out  cover songs together. Would be awesome if everyone contributed. Noticed there were some Beatle songs posted, but haven’t seen anything else. Here’s my contribution. It’s by no means perfect, and ya might even find better beats to fit the songs… but these all work, for sure:

Honky Tonk Woman - Rock 4
Hard to Handle, Walk This Way, Superstition - all work with rock 11
American Band - Blues 1
I Don’t Wanna Be (Gavin Degraw) - Rock 12
Santeria - Reggae 1
Rude (Magic) - Reggae 8
Brown Sugar, Get Ready - Pop 9
Play That Funky Music - Techno 1

Would love it if others contributed. What works for what?

A lot of good stuff here and some songs I play, the BB makes it come alive. Most happy.

Okay, anybody help me with a Doobies song - Jesus Is Just Alright.
It has two parts:

  • the classic intro and first 3 verses … I started with 132bpm, rock 2(?)
  • the slow, soulful bit … it’s about 115bpm BUT a 6/8 blues feel
I need to create a BB ‘song’ that is seamless. One of The Doobies best songs ( many others too ).

I played some songs last night as first try out in front of some people. The drum fills are so intuitive. I just picked a beat, tried a tempo and picked a song that fits and away I went. It was truly fun and creative.

And the sound thru’ my Roland keyboard PA amp was sharp and brilliant. I do play my acoustic guitar thru’ a separate stereo Fender amp. My playing was on fire and everybody said I was sounding so good and rich. I should have put the hat out.

Keep strummin & drummin.
