What songs are you playing with BB & their settings?

Hi Charles uploaded the tambourine folder with the 20 or so Wav files can you tell me how i add them to the actual song please and is the tambourine played with the external footswitch, bit confused as on the other Effects its just been a single wave file to add to the beat ?

Have you added them to the Standard kit? If you have, when you play the song with the Standard kit the tambourine should play. My tutorial videos should help you get started.

Here’s some of mine:
Ring of fire - Cash - Brushes 1 (default tempo)
Wagon Wheel - OMC - Country 2 (120 BPM)
Riptide - Vance Joy - Country 2 (200 BPM)
Ho Hey - Lumineers - Country 2 (180 BPM)… …I noticed C.Granger used a rock beat might try that since I’m not totally satisfied with this beat…
In your eyes - Gabriel - Brushes 10 (80 BPM)… …So stoaked on this pairing the beat sounds so similar to the recorded beat Manu Katche’ does…
I can’t believe it - TPain -… Hip Hop 1 (default tempo)… …This beat is a match made in heaven for this song…
Your body is a wonderland - John Mayer - Pop 1 (default tempo)
I’m yours - Jason Mraz - Reggae 7 (default tempo)… …Works really good with that downbeat kick tempo now if I could just get my upstrokes working a little better for the skank!!!
Please forgive me - David Gray - Blues 2 (BPM 110)… …Works for a kind of a down tempo rock ballad version of the song…
Under the milky way - The Church - Blues 1 (BPM 110)… …This beat sounds perfect for this song!
Come on get higher - Matt Nathanson - Funk (BPM 90)… …Another great pairing…

Thanks for everyone elses posts it’s nice to see what other people are doing to get ideas… I’ll put more up but I barely got my BB three weeks ago and played my first gig with it last Saturday and these are the songs I used with it…

Thanks!!
Those are added to the DB now - I think I’m going to make a form to enter these for consistency’s sake.

Joe

Ok - From here on out, add a song to the master list using this form. Your entry will NOT update immediately, I will review it (just to make sure it’s from a human) and add it to the list!

(*) “custom” midi files where I heavily lowered velocity to make BB drummer play softer.
(**) “custom” Brushes drum set where some top layers lower limit was raised to obtain softer sound.

Generally speaking BB is really great and fun.
I just feel the need for soft playing. None of the BB supplied songs/midi files is played “softly”, even if you slow down tempo, still “the drummer” plays “heavy” (at about velocity=127), which is not right to play some soft bossa novas or slow jazz standards.

I look forward to build a jazz drum set gently played with brushes (and right midi files) to widen my jazz standard range.

Nice job on Flor de Luna video …was that with BBuddy? …

There’s a great Wagon wheel version in beats … nice set list

Glad that you like it. Drums are from my friend & cajon player.
Video is from 2011. I think at that time BB wasn’t even in the head of its inventor…

I’ll think about posting a Stick+BB video…

Some songs in my attached pdf files are from this forum also. Others haven’t got any beats yet…Please feel free to amend any beats from any song you feel not so appropriate. Enjoy peeps!

From your file…

99 MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE POP12 160 PINK FLOYD

Artist is not appropriate…

Incredible work from You guys … and long may it continue. Regards from a rather humbled bass player - to a Community that has the future of on-stage percussion in its hands (or should that be at its’ feet) … The ‘Engine-Room’ of this outfit has just taken on a whole new meaning!!

Happiness is a 12 String guitar and bass duo … WITH a BeatBuddy!

Just found two more.

I jammed for a half hour using Jazz 2 for Money by Pink Floyd.
Also used Reggae 2 for the Police’s Message in a Bottle.

Yes, nice song list. I agree that the drum loops that come standard are way too aggressive. I bought the “Jazz Brushes” loops and drumset. They are better but limited. As this tool progresses, I think the call for more “standards” and jazz loops will tend to spur development of more options.

Have roughed in around 70 of the songs I do and am adjusting them little by little by practicing with them simulating live performance. The BB works super for lots of songs, especially simple rock songs, less super for folk, jazz, and standard tunes. Works great for songs like Holly Holy by Neil Diamond, Honky Tonk women by Stones, Peaceful Easy Feeling- Eagles, Sloop Jon B.-Beachboys. Not so well for songs like Canadian RR Trilogy by Gordy which requires 3 different main tempos, Autumn Leaves, Stars Fell on Alabama, and other jazz tunes which sometimes require a slowing tempo. Don’t know how you’d do that with a device like this. I do a lot of songs, songs by Baez, Lightfoot, Denver, Taylor, etc. that have not appeared here so when I get 'em nailed down, will post the tempos and loops that work.
That said, the BB most definitely adds another dimension for single guitar player/singers. Adding rhythm is a big plus.

that is awesome thanks

Hey All - any songs settings for female artists? I play in a duo and we both sing lead - this thread has an awesome collection of beat references for guy songs but haven’t seen a lot for girl songs (obviously many of them are cross-gender!)
Right now looking for “Call Me” by Nancy Wilson and “Independence Day” by Martina McBride
As I get more data I will post some new songs/settings from the lists we work from!
