When can we expect an HD version of this Cajon?
I’d be willing to donate some $. Who’s with me?
Hello. There are several issues that would be encountered with responding to your request:
-
The original kit was posted by a member who has not been seen on the Forum for quite some time. Hence, I found the kit in my archives and reposted to the Forum for all current users to be able to access, should they want it. I would assume that the original author is not around and would have no intention of updating the kit, but should he see this, and wish to tell me I am wrong, I would be happy, and it would be great to see his efforts at producing an HD kit.
-
I could likely produce an HD kit but for two problems. 1) I do not own a cajon. 2) I have not yet purchased a BB2, and have not really seen a need for having a BB2.
-
Those things being said, there are cajon resources available in digital form. 8Dio makes a Kontakt instrument, and it is actually available for free, at this time. I, or anyone else, could produce samples from it and build a new cajon kit. It, of course, would not sound exactly like the Benjo kit, as it is not that same cajon.
-
Then there is the matter of compensation. What do you think would be fair for someone to be paid to develop such a kit, realizing, of course that you could spread this fee over several users who would contribute to seeing it get built?
and finally,
- The existing kit is a 90mb kit. That is already a fairly comprehensive build. What gains are you expecting to see from a higher definition kit. Would you wand just a greater depth of sampling, or would you want additional articulations of the cajon? Either of these might present problems in creating a build from a plug-in. If you are expecting a build from actual playing, the production costs would be substantial.
