As the library of available songs grows, people are not going to want to buy all of the available volumes just to get the few songs there are actually interested in. Just imagine having 6-10 volumes on the market, and each one has 1-2 songs you need. Expensive and frustrating…and in the end folks will stop buying new volumes when they hit there personal expense ceilings.
Instead, I agree it would be best to offer the songs as individual downloads. In order to prevent folks from buying too few songs to make it worth your trouble, here’s a business model that should work: request-driven covers!
In other words, on the site that lists the (individual) covers already available for purchase, have a “Request song(s)” button and let people enter songs. Their entries should then be screened behind the scenes (to eliminate typos and wrong names) and entered into a “Wish List” that could be posted right alongside the list of available songs. And every time a registered forum member “likes” a song request, a tally should automatically appear next to that requested song. This gives everyone - including the BB team - a very good idea of how much sales potential is behind what songs, and the songs could then be attacked in the order of most popular on down.
This model would also encourage users to keep coming back to the site - on their own, i.e. without the need for promotion(!) - to see if “their” song requests are proving popular or not. And whenever enough of the top requests have been produced and posted, a circular e-mail could allert folks to the next set of 10 or 20 new songs now available (thus ensuring that even non-forum folks will notice).
This could be a win-win for all concerned: Users get what they want (and less of what they don’t), and BB only puts work into songs that are actually going to sell well.

Well, you would want to create a project based off of the content on your SD card first, by doing File > Open Project - and selecting the SD card’s drive. After you have done that and saved it to your computer, then you can modify your project however you like, and add beats/drumsets etc, and after all the changes you want have been made, you synchronize the project: File > Synchronize Project

So you create a backup then modify it and send it back to the BB. Thanks for the reply. Stoked about the recent additions to the beats and kits…

In short, no.You should go through the songs in BB Manager and preview sections. Each MIDI file used has been marked with “verse”, “chorus” etc. that would help with knowing what section is what. I do have my own drum guide charts that I created for beat creation by transcribing the parts. They indicate the form and what beat is used in which section. If you think that my charts will help, I can send them to you. They are hand written. Let me know.
Some songs have a lot of parts, which may be overwhelming to play live. You have to decide if you want to keep the forms as they are, or simplify them. I included everything, so that there is no shortage for those wanting the whole thing, but it may not be the most usable for some people.

@Daef Bro, we need to get rid of file name truncation in BB Manager, so users can see the full names of midi files used for each section. This is very important.

Hey great drum tracks! Just struggling with purple rain and im not sure if its just me and wondered if you could point me in the right direction please? So first verse when going into the transition it seems to be 2 beats behind…as the last line lasts 6 beats so when you press the transition it’s in the middle of the sequence so where you want the transition to start with the snare then gap and fill but instead you get straight into the fill. Obviously same issue with all verses. Any help would be appreciated.

Original Purple Rain song has a 2/4 bar, but BeatBuddy doesn’t support time signature changes within the same section, so the groove is in 4/4. I think the only way to play it properly is to use the footswitch to make the stop half way through the 4/4 bar. See if that works and let me know.

I have rewrote the track, now I have two options available I think. I have now removed the transitions and moved them to fills, and I have edited them so that the first two beats of the fill is just a normal drum track, and then midway it hits the snare and gap part which comes in mid beat…its perfectly in sync. The fill then ends halfway through the next bar but when it finishes it goes back to the normal drum beat back at the start…I can then quickly transition it to the chorus beat and keep doing that cycle but it has to be perfect!..but I think to simplify it and make it less error prone I will use an open hi-hat drum beat from the start, I believe the chorus is played on the ride and the verse is closed hi hat…I’ll use open hi hat all the way through the song and keep it going back to that beat I think that will sound fine. And then just have a final section with the 5 different fills which I will transition to for the last chorus/outro.

What do you think? (Hope it makes sense!)

the purple rain loop i have looks like it’s 17 measures, so you can set the time sig to 17/4 to make it loop properly

I too think this is a great idea. I don’t buy the groove packs because 8/10 songs are not for me. If I could custom select what I want across all the downloads I would happily pay, even a small premium, for the privilege.
BTW, bit mean putting Hey Jude in a greatest grooves pack on its own and not in the Beatels set.

Absolutely agree. There are now 10 volumes of 10 songs each so 100 songs to choose from (plus add’l songs in the Beatles pack). Maybe keep the format to $5/10 songs but let us choose our own packs? I had emailed Goran asking about this a few weeks ago and he indicated it was something they may do at some point in the future, quoting: “We will look into setting up individual song sales in the future, but not just yet. We need to restructure the platform and the look to accommodate individual song sales”.

Ok I bought the Beatles Double Pack and checked the content and found out that the song And I Love Her doesn’t have any sound at all. Please let me know if you have the same problem with the double pack.

You have to select the Latin drumset in order to hear the sounds. If you update the Latin set to v1.1, you won’t have to select anything as it will be automatically selected.

I agree with Athol Hockey. It can be nice in the future, that we have opportunity to download cover songs individually. All pack containes songs, which are interesting for me, but lot of songs which I don’t want to use, but I have to purchase. Athols method seems to be perfect and correct in this case.

I have a question. In the premium content library the song files have section like verse, chorus and whatnot, so if you want to copy those parts and mash them up to create new songs (just like with the rest of the free library) you can right?

Yes! You can’t sell them, but you can use them for your own needs. You are encouraged to customize the arrangements to suit your needs. Mix and match as much as you like
