What ever happened to panning?

More than 5 years ago, users started asking for panning as a feature request, and 3 years ago,@BrennanSingularSound said that “the work on the mixer page is ongoing and we will have more news soon on panning.” (I would include links, but the site won’t allow me.)

Is there any news or plan for this feature to ever come to light, or has it been dropped or put on the back burner indefinitely? Brennan, I know you cannot make promises about anything or give a definite timeframe, but any indication of whether we can reasonably hope to see this feature in the foreseeable future would be appreciated!

Yes, the first result is the initial request thread I mentioned, and then there is another one from 3 years ago where Brennan said he would soon have news about it, but then never gave any…

Hello,

A new mixer has been implemented in version 5.2.1.

Could you please clarify what you mean by panning exactly and what you’re hoping to achieve? Based on that, we can let you know if it’s possible on the Aeros, if it’s under consideration, or suggest any potential workarounds.

Thanks!

The ability to pan individual tracks during playback, a la the EHX 95000. I already know what the current capabilities of the Aeros are and what the potential workarounds are, so I’m really just looking for an answer about whether Singular Sound is still planning to add this specific feature.

Hey, any answer?

I would add that not only should we be able to pan the tracks during playback, but also if they are mono tracks. That does not sounds too extravagant for a mixer, but might be difficult to implement for a looper.

A panning feature on the AEROS, with the introduction of the new and anticipated Singular Sound expression pedal would be a great addition.

Alright, I’m going to interpret the perpetual hedging and kicking the can down the road to mean no, you’re probably not going to do it.

I can try to push

We are talking about a stereo pedal, right?

That means the musician using the pedal probably does not have a mixing console in his pocket to help with panning. Even if he had, he would need to have the panning moving for each track, it’s not easy. And that would be definitive also, so no room for error or polishing either.

Now you are offering a staggering 6 tracks.

How do 6 stereo tracks stacked upon each other sound if you don’t pan them properly? Bad. They sound bad.

Now why singular sound people would want their customers to sound bad?

No, you want listeners to be amazed by those on-the-fly musical creations. You want to implement playback panning

My wish would be to be able to create a template with the 6 tracks already pre-panned, so that as the layers are added, the sound will be immediately great, it will sound professional.

I hope that helps.

100% agree with all of that. It’s a pretty standard and important feature on multitrack recorders with more than 4 tracks. The EHX 45000 and 95000 have it. The Boss RC600 has it. I am really puzzled by @DanielSingularSound and @BrennanSingularSound acting like this is just another annoying little niche feature request that doesn’t even warrant any further update two years after it was previously talked about, and 5 years after it was originally talked about. Could you guys give us at least a little bit more info besides just linking to an old post?
