Forum Rules

We are all here to contribute to and sustain a community built on trust, respect, and passion for Singular Sound Products.

Before posting for the first time, please read these rules and abide by them. Know what’s acceptable and what’s not.

Here are the rules and guidelines for our forum:

General Conduct

  1. Be respectful to everyone; even if they have differing opinions that happen to rub you the wrong way.

  2. Constructive criticism towards each other as well as towards Singular Sound is more than welcome on this forum (in fact we thrive on it), but constructive is the keyword here.

  3. Do not use disparaging or otherwise offensive language

  4. Constructive criticism means that the post has the intention of helping to solve a problem in a calm and respectful manner.

  5. If you feel you have the need to express yourself with no filter, feel free to private message a moderator or write to support@singularsound.com, we’re happy to hear your thoughts.

Posting to the forum

  1. Before making a post, please use the search function to see if it has already been answered. It very likely has been. Duplicates will be tagged duplicate, and will be either closed or deleted.

  2. Post threads in the correct section and subsection. Incorrect postings will either be moved, when applicable, or deleted.

  3. Stay on topic. A thread is a term used for a discussion or question about a particular subject. If the topic of an existing thread is about cats, don’t post about dogs. Start a new thread about dogs. Another example: Do not post new problems on someone else’s thread and interrupt a topic of discussion.

  4. NO ALL CAPS POSTS. (It appears as ranting and screaming)

  5. No spamming, you will be automatically banned from the forum for spam.

  6. You may not post anything digital that belongs to someone else without permission. You may not post descriptions of, links to, or methods for stealing someone’s intellectual property (software, video, audio, images), or for breaking any other law.

  7. No Batch requests/posts.

    • If you have 3 separate issues, there should be 3 separate topics made, one for each issue. This helps us keep track of requests/bugs and organize them more easily. It also makes it much easier for us to track duplicates.
    • Batch requests as of 7/8/20 will be asked to re-input the issues separately, and the original post will be deleted a week after being notified.
  8. If you are submitting a Bug Report, please include the firmware version of the unit in the body of the text, this is one of the most important things we need to know.

Breaking any of these rules may result in the topic being unlisted, the topic or reply being deleted, or in extreme cases suspension/banning of the individual from the forum.

Moderators have special authority; they are responsible for this forum. But so are you. With your help, moderators can be community facilitators, not just janitors or police.

When you see bad behavior, don’t reply. It encourages bad behavior by acknowledging it, consumes your energy, and wastes everyone’s time. Just flag it. If enough flags accrue, action will be taken, either automatically or by moderator intervention.
