hi, would like to ask if there will be a further firmware update in the near future, and if the 500 midi notes limit will be removed?? Checking the hp every day…
YES for both! Very soon!
David, as long as I have you here, I have a question that I have been wanting answered and maybe you can do that. I would like to know if anyone has made or is thinking about making a set of songs identical to the original songs that came with the Beat Buddy but in a “Quantized” version. If this is possible, it would remove a lot of wasted time trying to edit them in Beat Builder as I have done for about 100 songs. It is very time consuming to go into the songs and edit them one note at a time to correct the timing that is just too far “Out of Time” to be acceptable. A “Quantized” version would help out a great deal for the up and coming ones. I already have lots of them corrected but still having quite a bit that needs correcting. If you could mention this to the support team, it would be much appreciated. Thanks for all that you have done so far to create an awesome pedal.
Sincerely, Fingerstylepicker.
Would help me also…
Cannot find time to do it by myself…
@Daef made a quantized version of the original content. @Daef can you please post it? Thanks!
Could one hope for a new update within the next couple of weeks?
Well, to be honest, I haven’t quantized all the content. Only intros with length that is not a multiple of quarter note length. This used to cause issues with MIDI sync back when you weren’t able to have MIDI Start sent after the intro ends.
More about this here - http://mybeatbuddy.com/forum/index.php?threads/some-intros-are-incorrect-length.582/#post-2095.
Quantized beats are always welcome, especially when it comes to the machine executing it. I am all for the BBManager to have means to quickly quantize most (hopefully, all) the pattern while preserving the overall feel of it. Plus the user should be able to fix any auto-quantization errors manually.
There is still some work left to do.
@DavidPackouz
Would you guys consider making the firmware and/or software opensource? I’m a dev and I worked on the AlphaTrack plugin for Reaper (see http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=81889). If the projects were on Github, devs like me could make the tweaks we need, then you guys can review them and decide to include them. Best of all, you’re getting free developers. Everyone wins.
I am looking into using Reaper to do this… I think it can be scripted, and so, it could probably done “en masse”
Hi @ruariau, the projects are on Github. We’re always looking for volunteer devs Please email me at david@mybeatbuddy.com if you would like to get involved.
Any ETA on the next update?
I have BB Manager v1.5.0.1. Today I tried to convert some beats to MIDI files, following the instruction in the manual. However, Under the Tools I have only two options: ‘Set Workspace Location’, and ‘Buffering Time’. There is no ‘Convert Track to MIDI’ option. In fact, the menu looks very different from the manual. So, cannot convert beats to MIDI.
Can anyone help?
They changed the export to midi process. Just right click on the part now.
Great, thanks! Got it now. Was this change documented anywhere?
The single note intro count is nice, but is there a way to disable the intro and just start directly on the downbeat of Part 1 or Part 2? Sometimes you need to start the drums in the middle of a song without anything before it.
Also, it looks like one of the reported bugs is still not fixed . . .
“Headphones volume screen was appearing at random times when the headphones volume was turned low. This is fixed.”
This is still happening to me! Am I doing something wrong?
We desperately need a firmware update!!! Pullers assessed!!
Desperately need a firmware update!!! Just to inspire…much too long to go without an update!!!
