Why can’t folks simply create a “genuine” beat file, you knwo, one you play live like the BB is supposed to be used?

With these one press things, you might as well use a backing track, AND get a far FAR better result, AND a lot LOT simpler to create!

If you don’t like one-press songs, that’s fine as they’re not everybody’s cup of tea but by all means, please share what you’ve created as I’m sure many users would enjoy your efforts.

You can take any of the one-press songs and cut them into their respective sections I.e., intro, verse, chorus, outro and etc.

I’ve posted a few multi-part songs to the forum as well and they include fills, transitions and accents.

cool. Yes I only use BB in it’s original intended method. I create my own backing trax for those songs that need a bit extra. I guess I am a bit fortunate in that I can play left hand basslines on the keys as well as playing live piano/EP and organs synths etc, so a preprogrammed bass and drums song is not required. There are a lot of songs here I’d like to d/l and add however I do nto have the time to start “reverse engineering” them to extract the beats out to the original BB format :slight_smile: wish I did, as many here are very VERY good!

Song sounds great - one question - on Version 2, did you mean to have the electric snare? On v.3 there is a snare rim shot which sounds much better.

Thanks for the feedback. There’s a little bit of a backstory for the SUB-Std Pro PL Bass 0-31 and a couple of the other SUB (for substitute) kits built by Phil_Flood. With Singular Sound’s approval Phil used his own samples to create a set of substitute kits that mirrored the configuration of the Standard Pro drum set. The Standard Pro drum set (Premium set, no longer available from Singular Sound) uses the Electronic or Electric Snare for MIDI ID 40 (which corresponds with the General MIDI mapping for drums). Since the MIDI source file called for the use of MIDI ID 40, I did not change it for use in the v1 and v2 songs. The STAX 4 octave piano & strings kit on the other hand, has the Snare Rimshot at MIDI ID 40 instead of the Electronic Snare.

Long story for such a short slide but for the v2 version, you could use the Snare (MIDI ID 38) instead of the Electronic Snare, or if you prefer, you can change the kit on the v2 song to use the STAX 4 octave piano & strings kit. Users are alway welcome to season to taste.

Thanks for the long story. I have many songs where the electronic snare is used in midi 40 and I move it down to 38. This explains a lot to me.

Also, I didn’t know the Sub-Std replaced the Standard Pro drum set! That too makes more sense.

I’m glad I asked - 2 big learning points for me today.
